One thing I give props to Gordon Ramsay is that he has stated numerous times he’s only like this to these chefs because they claim to be high level chefs and some are even culinary teachers. They’re competing for a HUGE job. But when he does his other shows with non professional or high level chefs, he’s way more instructive and actually kinder in his own way. His kids have said that he’s actually super fun and nice at home and that he’s only vicious when it comes to work. Pretty cool stuff

It's proven in pretty much every other show he's on that he's tender and wants the best for people. The bake offs or the MasterChefs he's always cheering them on and giving out compliments and encouragement. These people are competing to be the head chef under Ramsey's name. He wants to be sure that they will not crack under pressure and can keep up for weeks on end if neccessary.
