I've had this tent for a while and it is built like a tank. Worth every penny. Tip-- Get some 4 foot dog leash to use instead of the cheap tie line. Hook the clasp to the tent and stake the other end to the ground. Stronger, faster set up and easier to pack.

I’ve owned the two room version over a year now. It is the most durable tent I’ve ever owned. The material it’s made from is heavy duty. I live on the pacific coast and high winds are frequent. I made the mistake of not staking it all down once and it blew away about 200 yards across my field. Nothing broke I was amazed! I highly recommend staking this tent down evry use. Awesome. We camp in a huge E350 sleeper van. When it's hot, we prefer sleeping in a tent. This tent looks like it's made for us. We looked at Roof Top Tents and decided that getting up in the middle of the night to pee is dangerous and inconvenient. I have 17-year-old REI base camp 4 & 6 tents. Both are great tents. Not too hard to set up. However, we want something even easier.

I just wanted to thank you for your video and review. I'm getting ready to buy a tent for overlanding and my wife and I are in our 60's. So we love the look and the thought of a roof top tent on our Jeep JK in order to be off the ground in our desert area. But, we are not thrilled about the roof racks, climbing up on our lifted jeep to secure the tent, and not being able to drive our jeep into the garage during camping season. After viewing your video, we have simplified our choice, and will be going with the Gazelle T3, with cots so that we are off the ground in the tent. Injuries at our age, along with being out in country scare us, so limiting those possibilities is a priority. Thank again.

You are the 6th review I have seen on this tent. All the others I watched were complete crap. You earned a sub from me for not being a typical youtube gear pimp
@johnlapsansky28303 жыл бұрын
We have owned both the T3 and T4. We first bought the T3 because it would fit inside our JK for travel. But when the temps dipped down and we needed a heater inside the tent, the T3 didn't give us the room for the heater and out mattress. The T4 gives us the room inside to place the heater at our feet without it being to close to us. We kept the T3 for the kids when they travel with us. Great tent!

Another great video and a good review of a tent that I wasn't familiar with, but thanks to your review and recommendation I am now a proud owner of a T4 Gazelle Tent. I do a lot of desert camping and have been for years, so I have collected a lot of tents over the years. For the last 3 or 4 years I have been using an REI Basecamp 4 person tent with great results and it is still an excellent tent. Relatively easy to put up by myself, if the winds aren't blowing too strong, you how the wind can blow out in the desert. I was intrigued by the T4 Tent due the speed that it can be set up and the good reviews that it received on Amazon and other KZbinrs. l Ordered the T4 thru Amazon Prime and it was delivered within 2 or 3 days. It arrived today and within about 90 seconds, first time try it was up and functional. Very impressed with the quality of material and the ease of set up. My wife was impressed with the roominess inside the tent and the height. Haven't had a chance to take it camping yet, but looking forward to it's maiden trip. Thank you for the review and your recommendation! Happy trails, John

@@MikeMacias Yes, the floor area is quite large and the sides of the tent are pretty vertical. If you were to sleep on four adult cots, it could get crowded. Sold sold sold!!! I have a kelty dome that has served me well since 2004 and while still easy for me or my pops to set up it dose take a minute. We recently invested a considerable sum into a 15' yurt for hunting camp which we set up in may and leave up until late September as a ultimate home base ad it seems easier that the old pole tent we used in my early youth. We have planned a cross country from CA to VA and this would be ideal for those quick camp situations. So when need the ultimate base camp I'll yurt it and when I need to roam this will be it. To think I was willing to sell my soul for a conquerer. Camping shouldn't cost a half a rural house to do.

Looks like a great winter tent, however, down here in South Texas, it would not have enough ventilation. Basically here, you need a screen house that you can zip closed. Temps get up to 90 deg F at night.
@thewhiskeycowboy-official6 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the complete opposite. I have tented in late fall, and can say with confidence that in cooler weather I find all the upper ventilation (without the ability to close it off) to be a pain since all the heat you want in your tent escapes. With all the side windows and top vent screens, I would say you do have a screen house that you can zip close. But you can't keep heat inside if you wanted to. I would think though, that this tent would probably be nice in moderate temperature zones or use. Winter use... no thank you. The top screens are my biggest complaint with tents now days.... they need to come with the ability to close them just like the side windows. THEN, they would be good winter tents. Until then, for me, no.

Outstanding review! I prefer the OzTent, however its heavier, longer, and waaaay more expensive, so I consider this the better buy, but the OzTent is a good product as well for a ground tent. With that said my vehicle platform is a lot bigger as I am running a 2017 Ram 2500 MegaCab Diesel which has not limited me one bit in overlanding. Great review. Thank you. You spent the night in the tent and it was chilly inside and outside when you woke up. Say I want to use a heater along with an electric blanket. Heat oviously rises and with the rain cover on or off, the heat will rise & escape thru the screen mesh on ceiling. Or am I wrong to think this way? How would you go about heating this T4?
@wendeemason6268 Жыл бұрын
I have a T3. When it is cold outside I use a thick five ply emergency blanket on top of the mesh. On top of that, I have a thick quilt. Then I put on the rain cover. Inside the tent I have four emergency blankets that they hang on the walls. I attach them with clothes pins to the inside poles. If I have a heater and outside source of electricity or a solar generator, I heat the tent with that. The emergency blankets on the ceiling and all walls keep the heat in and I am toasty warm all night. I can also put on a Mr. buddy heater for 10 minutes before I go to bed. Four or five emergency blankets is a game changer.

OB#3141- Sweet video about the Gazelle brand tents, personally the T4 is awesome for my needs. You are correct in the assessment of RTT vs. disabled users, let us say the fall (torn meniscus and strained ACL) was not worth the cool factor of having the RTT installed on Ox (2007 Ford Expedition EL 4x4). I wish I was younger LOL, but the kids loved it, until time to run to the head or make a cat-hole, the climb down was not a rush-able event, even inside an annex. So back to 4-6 man ground tents for us. Thanks for this video made me reaffirm my findings and brought up a couple more items to think about with the ground tent. Thank you, Micheal and Corrie!

Just use couple of ratchet straps. Its more important to get the front tied down than the back, and loop it through the handles as a safety catch. Prolonged storage on the rack will fade the color, but remain fairly stable structurally.

I realize this is an older video but maybe someone is listening , hehe. Does the Gazelle tents do a better job with condensation since its taller than typical ground tents ? Just curious.....roof top tents seem to rain inside

I'm not sure about that - we have had internal condensation when using a heater in the tent.

I like the Coleman Instant Up way better. Sets up in 60 sec. , shorter folded , it water proof without the separate fly , and the fly and it's definitely 4 seasons. Mines the 9x13, under $150 with fly on Amazon.

You put your Ham radio in the description but you never mentioned the antennas you use. Can you please tell me what they are and how you like them. Thank you!!

If you’re going to have something that giant you might as well get the breed version that they copied. Search “SHIFTPOD”. This thing is way cheaper at least but shiftpod is quicker and better in both hot and cold climates.

For warmth in the winter I was wondering if you could set up the T3 inside the T4. I have the T4. Can you try it?

I mentioned this in another post, I have a T3 and I use five emergency, five ply blankets. One is on top of the mesh underneath the rain fly along with a quilt +4 emergency blankets hung on the walls and pinned with clips to the polls. Prevents wind from coming through and the heat stays inside.

What type of sleeping setup do y’all use? Air mattress on the ground, cots?
