Great video and some good places, also, don't forget East Falls. The have the twin bridges that cross the river and beneath them an old and a new rail line, also the Laurel Hill Cemetery and the East Falls Bridge. If you have enough batteries you can do Manyunk too, not much further up the river. Really busy for traffic so probably make a really cool night shot of 76 near City Ave or Rt 1.

Certainly the Water Works behind PMoA is a great place day and night/dusk, with all of the bridges along the Schuylkill and the skyline in the distance. Anywhere along the Schuylkill from Manayunk to South Street Bridge along the River Walk is great. Take a bike ride starting in Manayunk (you can rent a bike there) with your drone in a backpack or panier and not worry about find a place to park along there, which is challenging. Bring lots of batteries. Both ends of the River Walk are good with the PMoA and South Street near the end of the trail there’s a large grassy area. River Field near the front of the PMoA may be another good launch spot to maintain VLOS, capture the front of the museum and be closer to the skyline. Also, the park in front of the Free Library near Logan Square is an option closer to Center city with some nice vistas along Ben Franklin Parkway. In any instance, try to stay over trees and grassy areas. I intentionally avoided the homeless encampment, which otherwise would appear to be a logical launch spot looking at Google Maps.

Just to point out something. You can fly safely from the river side walk on the Subaru park in Chester. I have flew many times from it, see my videos.

Great video! Another great spot is Lemon Hill. Gives another perspective of the Art Museum and the skyline. You can also get a lot of the Art Museum shots you showed, but it takes a little bit of flying. It is a great spot to go if the parking lot at boathouse row is full. Unless you are going midday on a weekend when the weather is nice, there is ample parking. My only complaint is the helicopters sometimes come off the Schuylkill River extremely slow, so anytime you hear a helicopter, bring the drone down ASAP.

Nice list. Have to hit some of those spots. I too like the Barry Bridge and Gloucester City. I also fly just north of the Barry Bridge in Logan Twp. on Floodgate Rd. You can hit Chester Island from there and in the summer you'll catch sailboats from the PA side. Have you tried Penn Treaty Park ?? Gonna try that one too. Happy flying !!

I have seen clips of the raised rail bridge, the US ship and the old steel factory on TV docos aired here in New Zealand but never realised that they were all located in Philly. If you shoot around Philadelphia you are also only 50-60 miles away from the Jersey shore. Most areas at the Jersey shore you can fly but be sure to check federal, state and local laws, especially if you planning on flying in Long Beach Township, NJ. There is also quite a bit on low flying manned aircraft during the summer months and it's also breezy so take all into account. Areas like the Walt Whitman bridge you have to be careful. That is a 300' zone (auto approval available) and you are skating the edge of a 0' zone. The park across the river is pretty much the same, it's in a 300' zone, quickly changes into a 200' zone. In that area the jumbo jets are so low as they are landing at PHL (700'-1200') that you feel you can reach out and touch them.

Walt Whitman bridge is class B airspace starting from surface. You need special FAA clearance to fly there.

Planning on flying off Manayunk Bridge (the old railroad tracks that are now a walking path connecting Manayunk to Lower Merion) out above Schuykill river at about 200 ft elevation from starting point. i have a spark. Any interference issues in any of these locations? My biggest fear is my spark losing a signal and dropping into the river. I am from south Philly and cross the south street bridg regularly. AT&T is located right there and that is what prompts my question. I also tried to fly from Taney field but was restricted from flying there.
