What's funny is in the latest episode, 10, the anime points out that Damian is alone in the photo. That point is never made in the manga.

They adapte the manga extremely well and then add a lot of anime exclusive scenes that just are just great and do an amazing job of adapting and elevating the story by adding things to it that weren't there in the manga... truly an amazing adaptation

You missed the biggest yet most subtle change from the manga. We actually got to see Damian in the class photo (top right) and of course he was by himself because neither of his parents could be bothered to show up. Nice bit of foreshadowing for his characterization a bit later in the story.

I hate when anime like this. Don't get me wrong: of course you need to stick to the source material, especially if the story is very complicated, of course like this the storyboard is already done... but guys... a part from movements, sounds and colors... THAT'S IT! I already read and saw these events in this setup, and even if you need to stick with the plot as accurately as possible... do you REALLY need to reproduce the SHOTS and FRAMING too!? Now, if this was live action, I would be proud of everyone, if this was from a book where I can only imagine the scenes, it would be nice to compare my imagination with the real-life product... but having such comic/manga adaptations is... good but then why should I watch the anime if it adds little to nothing to the manga? Take "Dragon's Maid": in the manga the chapters are much shorter, so in an anime adaptation you have THOUSANDS of holes you can fill with so much secondary scenes, also you can add characters in scenes they didn't appear in the manga, also you can cut what can be cut, you can make new "chapters", original from the manga, all together. THAT is anime worth watching, cause it's adding something that isn't just colors and sounds.
