Hey Austin, I used to have a lackluster one arm push up with my left arm, I mean I didn't twist and I did bend slightly, but it was the shoulders that was working, the pec not as much.... The right side of the torso and right arms especially right chest got thick and mean but the left side grew wider and not as thick.... So the way I fixed it was, I noticed with the right arm push up, the hand is directly beneath the pecs, tried that with the left arm, normally I could do 13 reps but this time I got 5.... Built both arms upto 35 reps... Looks great on video. I joined a gym before lockdown to see my strength.... I benched 150kilo, I am 95kilo bodyweight. Now I am doing the ultimate one arm push up which is the one arm one leg push up, this variation automatically eliminates any bend or twist of the torso, best variation ever... Popularized by Pavel Tsatsouline.... I got visibly more jacked doing it. I can only do 17 reps each arm. I will test my bench once I am at 25 reps.

TLDR: do tuck planche pushup negatives. If you have a tuck planche with good form, then that's that hardest part. If you have the strength for handstand pushups, then you just need to get used to the planche pushup movement. Slow negatives will get you there quickly.

I can totally relate with your experience! My brief history. I started late February with around 10-12 normal pushups. In mid may I hit my first 100 pushups pet training session which I kept on doing all days. These days I am doing 200 pushups 3 times a week and the other 4 days I include harder variations using chairs, trying the archer ones, diamond, weight on my back, etc. Would you suggest training other parts of the body to get to the 1 arm pushup? i.e core? or back? P.S. once you get into the daily pushup stuff, you cannot stop!

Diamond Push up involves the triceps and the inner chest more. Wide push ups if done correctly invove the outer parts of the chest more. Make sure to have your hands on chest height and not on shoulder height. Makes a huge difference for push ups and muscles involved.
