I can’t do any pull-ups but can do like 3 chin-ups. I can do like 12 pushups. Following you for inspiration to keep up the work. Question, will doing chin ups build the right muscles to eventually do pull-ups or should I start incorporating your beginner pull up exercises?
@aslam_94075 жыл бұрын
i aint no expert but i have some experience in that, imo u can do chin ups and while chin ups are good for your back they will never substitute pull ups, u have to know that pull ups are harder than chin ups because while they both use back musculature, chin ups use biceps, which give a lot of assistance, while pull ups use the brachioradialis (google that),its a much smaller and weaker muscle in the arm, and while it can be trained to be almost as strong as ur biceps, when starting off it will always be weaker than biceps. with that being said, i would recommend that you incorporate some pull up type, u can start off with holds, negatives. also u can try with bands, but personally i learnt my first pull up just doing negatives and holds so i would recommend that and its enough to get you through, negatives will always be beneficial even when u can already do 5 reps of pull ups. I am currently doing sets of 12 reps x3 of pull ups and still incorporate negatives in my routines.

3:30 lmao so true. On a side note, many people do lat pull downs cuz they're weak at the pull up and they think that the lat pull down is superior. Then you ask them why do you squat and deadlift and not just use the machines for legs and they answer you that squats and deads use stabilizors and machines don't. Then you tell em that it's the same for the pull up, it uses more stabilizors, therefore it's superior to the lat pull down and they get kinda quiet. All kinds of excuses just cuz you're weak at a certain exercise. Any exercise in which you move your body through space will always be superior than the cable version(pull ups, dips, squats, deadlifts, bench, OHP and so on).
