I've used all of your videos to set up my emulators and they are good teaching tools, mostly because you actually talk through what you're doing. Most video tutorials I've seen are just text on screen with no explanation of anything whatsoever. My only issues with redream that I've come across is not being able to play Sega rally for some reason it had something to do with a WinCe issue...and I have an issue when having an HDMI cable connected. I get a green/purple screen with wavy lines. It's not that big of an issue because when it's in full screen without the cable connected, the emulator looks the way it's supposed to, but I really want to play it on my TV.

I have this on my phone and one of my tablets! It runs great on both! Well worth the relatively paltry $5 or $6 they're asking for. I gave up on getting NullDCBear to run games properly (I'll revisit it later). It also runs the more recent Atomiswave arcade game rips!!. It seems to run these better on my phone for some reason. Plays great with the 8-bitdo arcade stick - an awesome portable setup for fighting games!

You wasted your money if you bought it. Something like Flycast lets you do that for free, and without horrible input lag. Flycast is a bit harder to use, but it’s well worth your time. It’s also open source, so it continues to get updates from people who want to work on the project and help, while redream is currently months without any updates. Flycast forks even adds rollback netcode, letting you play the Dreamcast’s fighting games online smoothly.

How does performance compare to flycast on retroarch? Are the VMUs saves in the same format and interchangeable between the 2?

Just a heads up - there are a tiny amount of games that don't render correctly if you use per-strip polygon sort accuracy. Sega Extreme sports is the one I noticed. Oh and the $6 for the upgrade is totally worth it.

Any advice please? I got it all setup, and can play games on it. However there is only sound when I dont have the controller plugged in. Soon as I plug in and play the sound goes away. I can play fine, and if I unplug sound comes back??

How you continue with saved files? Everytime I boot my game, it wants to start a new game. I saved in game and with the app itself. My app has save data but I don't know how to properly access it. Thank you!

I am currently using my ps3 controller to play, are their other controllers that are better. Is their a usb dreamcast emulator controller you can recommend. Am very happy using the ps3 controller though. But I currently bought the gamecube and sega genesis usb emulator controllers I'll let you know if any difference. Thank you.

AMD card apparently gets artifacts like crazy with redream. Mine did no matter what settings I tried. Switched to Flycast and everything worked perfect righ away and I didn't need to pay them to get high res textures.

Great video! Thanks, When I tap go to library and put in the location to my roms nothing seems to happen. I created a Dreamcast roms folder on my desktop and placed my dreamcast roms there. The roms in that folder are still zipped. Am I suppose to unzip the rom? Not sure why I can’t get it to work? Any suggestions Would help 🙏

yeah unzip all the file in a folder ex: .cdi .gdi .bin .raw after that the emulator will put your game in the library. dont forget to create 1 folder for each disc(compress) for you game who have many disc

WARNING: AMD cards are messed up for the emulator, i just tried to use it and they are supposed to be putting out a new driver to fix all the lag and artifacts. I would have updated my video, but that's just me. lol

I can never i mean never.. On a oc or retropi.. Just can't get the controller to config correct.. Sholder button is a start.. I yried fixing it.. But nope.. I got so frustrated.. I just gave up and bought a modded DC and bought a Striker controller... Sure it was expensive but.. No more messing around... Just power on and play.

Is this still really the best emulator for dreamcast when you have to PAY to use it's full HD capabilities even though the devs have abandoned it and other emulators are 100% free? Yeah I know "its only $6" but the devs stopped supporting the project. So why should I support them?
