What rod is this, I’m fairly new to fly fishing but ready to upgrade and I’ve been trying to figure out what rod he is using. It’s such a beautiful setup.

Nicely done! I love this creek, but have only fished it in winter. It looks so pretty in fall as well, and you can't beat dry fly fishing for these beauties:) I really enjoy your videos, thanks.

Those are incredible sized Brown Trout for such a small creek. You know in Appalachia most of those would be fingerlings in a creek that size

No doubt! But there are a few magical small Appalachian streams that have fish that size or bigger in them

I've only had one opportunity to fish a spring creek. I was in the Badlands region of S Dakota. I had no clue... I thought fish in crystal clear and shallow spring creeks were super finicky. Yet, you seem to be having no trouble hooking up. Is it ALL dry fly sight fishing?
@hardmanfishing2 ай бұрын
Yep it was all dry fly sight fishing! I think one or two fish were caught blind but not many 😂

Some kind feedback here and I'm not trying to be some snowflake, but: you guys can be pretty rough on fish that aren't up to your standards, and on the other end of the spectrum the spawning/retreating salmon in Washington was just so unethical. I really love the cinematics on this channel and the commentary, but it's tough to see when some fish are treated like they're not worth the time. Other than that, channel is great. Hope this comes across the way I intend
@hardmanfishing2 ай бұрын
I’ll be honest I don’t know how I’m mistreating trout that are smaller, unless you’re upset that I don’t exactly lay them in the water on occasion😂 which isn’t even mistreatment, I mean they drop fish from airplanes out west and throw them from roads out east. Maybe I could be less lazy for the optics of it BUT it does nothing for the fish. Which makes me think this comment is still stemming from the legally caught and released salmon which is wild😂 either way I wish you the best man!
@stadik57702 ай бұрын
@@hardmanfishing I've never heard of them being dropped from airplanes, especially natives.... you set the hook like it's a 30 lb'er everytime, they shouldn't become Flying Fish on a hook set and "retrieval". I know you're used to dealing with hate comments all day and have to take them with a grain of salt but that's not what this was at all. All I'm asking, as a person who does support the channel that allows you to do what you do, just think about how you're treating some of these fish man. This ain't anything different than I'd tell my own dad or brother if it was needed.
@stadik57702 ай бұрын
@@hardmanfishing I'm not 100% concerned with how you're treating fish in 70% of scenarios, but you gotta understand the audience you're growing and right now there's a lot of younger fisherman and they will take an inch and make it a mile. Don't be so butt hurt when somebody says something about what you do, you'd be surprised how much you could grow when you have an open mind and are willing to consider your critics may be jjst 1% right.
