I remember as a kid, we had a Jerry's Restaurant ( the precusor to Shoney's), and they had the best strawberry pie. When my dad would take us, me and him always had our pie first--to make sure we had room for the best. 😊 Great memories watching you make this. Thinking I will have to relive these memories and make this pie. Because "curiosity killed the cat," what was the thing you put in your strawberries? I have never seen one of those.

You know Tiffany, you remind me so much of the way I grew up here in Texas. I was always an old soul and hung around with my grandparents as much as I could. I learned cooking and baking from my Mom of course but really hung with my grandmother’s and learned everything I could from them all. I had on me that lived in town and my Dads parents lived out on a farm so we spent a lot of time with cattle, chickens and so much more as well as helping in the garden. I am so grateful to have known all of my grandparents and to have learned so much. My brothers taste my cooking a lot of time and have actually looked up ate me with tears saying they had no idea I knew how to make Mamaws dressing or grandmas roast or whatever I happened to have made at that moment. It wonderful being able to carry those memories forward with foods. I am going to have to try this strawberry pie, it looks so refreshing! ❤
