Highly detailed analysis of UAE and Tadej Pogacar’s progression in tactical efficiency. I still think with a healthy Sepp Kuss, Michael Jorgensen, Wout van Aert and especially Jonas Vingegaard Jumbo can give UAE a challenge in 2025. UAE is seriously dominant this year though. fell in love with cycling in 80s. Seen a lot of talent. remco reminds me of Hinault hes a ball of muscle so strong. Tadej is best Ive seen though. Seems like punch of contador, style of gilbert, instincts of Sagan, and an engine plus desire to win everything I havent seen so id guess similar to Merckx. Coppi is my favorite mainly because hes an enigma and such an outrageous talent so ahead of his time with anquetil and merckx winning one days , Gts, hour record and ITTS. Tadej is that type of generational talent since he beat porte up Mt baldy in amgen at 19 and then podium at vuelta. Hes 25 athletes usually peak 27-32 still having muscle dexterity but develop cerebral advantages from experience. Hes always ridden like a demon but now hes learning and using his team I hope Roglic either marks Remo or works exclusively for Tadej he has perfect team for this both Novak and Mohoric were flying in montreal SLovenia deserves a rainbow for all the entertainment they have given us. Some notable differences for the World's that didn't come up in the analysis: Tadej will not be racing with UAE; instead, he'll be racing with his fellow Slovenians: Roglic, Mahoric, Tratnic, Mexgec, Govekar, and Novak. Of these, Novak is the only UAE teammate. In addition, they'll be racing without radios. So, the team will need to plan the various contingencies in advance, including how the leadership split works between Tadej and Primoz. During the race, they won't be able to coordinate via radio if they are separated and won't get input from the team director. For an example of how messy that can be, look at what happened in 2021 when the Belgian team, racing on home ground with WVA and Remco supported by a stellar group of classics riders, lost to Alaphilippe.

(And... 😂 ) The "city lap" looks similar to the course I watched in the early 2000s: it is 26.9km long, or >16 miles. (Can't remember if that was a "GP Zurich"? Probably))... if nobody darts ahead on the 2nd to last lap, Pogacar will most likely use the first sharp ascent to "separate the chaff" and reduce his dark horse rivals. That steep short section has a relatively steep short descent, followed by the last, longer climb... if he distanced the 5th through 20th strongest rivals in that first climb, then we presume he can challenge Primoz & Evenepoel to a manno a manno in the last 15k.... Going to be exotic, if the weather is fine. 🎉❤🎉

Honestly I don't get it. When Pogacar is losing to Vingegaard it's always the calorie issue. Don't get me wrong that's possible but I don't buy it. Vingegaard is top notch rider he is 1st page rider so he has better days than Pogacar no doubt about it. Somehow its always looks like Pogi loosing-its his fault you never considering others riders having better legs. Good video 👍
@ChrisHornerCycling3 ай бұрын
Certainly Jonas and Jumbo had pressure put on Pogi for many of those races that Pogi lost or maybe better/more correct to say that Jonas won. That pressure makes Pogi (all riders for that matter) forget some important steps that every rider has to do to be good during a race, such as eating, not going on ridiculous attacks, and leaving your teammates behind that could still be there to help you. So when I am saying that Pogi messed up during any of those races I am not saying he did not have some help from Jonas to make that happen. I’m just saying that Pogi still had the legs to win on those days especially when we are discussing the ’22 & ‘23 T’sdF but Pogi and his team UAE played a big part in their losing. Now the one race that Jonas 100% just flat out beat Pogi was stage 16 itt of the ‘23 TdF. Jonas was incredible there, probably the best we have ever seen from him against Pogi. If Jonas was to repeat that form then I would never say Jonas needed Pogi to mess up in order for Jonas to win. But when we see Pogi not just getting second to Jonas but also losing 3,4,5, and 6th place to other riders. Well, it’s clear UAE and Pogi messed up some where along the line during those races. I do believe Jonas is better tactically than Pogi and is more consistent with his form day to day, so it’s clear that Jonas pays attention to the small details at every race he does and doesn’t get over excited. 🤔🦋👊💪

This makes the same nonsense sense likes Chris analyse how many wins Tadej would had. Same with his analyse, that everytime when Tadej is distanced, he buncked. Every other rider who get distanced by Tadej is not buncked. Makes no sense. Its always black and white, or who he loves more. This channel gets worse and worse if it comes to his rides he loves....

Certainly was ridiculous riding from Visma, Trek, Q/S, EF, IP/T, Bora, and two other teams. But I still watched Pogi finish and appreciated what he was doing. I would have bet money that the peloton could have kept Pogi within ten seconds until the last lap climb started. That would have been good viewing. Why big teams race for second is unbelievable. 🤔😳🦋🥲💪🔥🇸🇮

Probably the best races happened when he did manage to lose: Milano-San Remo, 1st stage of the Giro, stage 7 TT and stage 11 of Tour.

I want to know Chris Horner opinion about GCN and euro sport calling POG for a triple crown because seems like Vuelta now is Not a big price as world championship ... my non educated history tells me triple crown is win the 3 in one year (or kinda) Giro-tour-vuelta BUT. is /or can POG can be called a triple crown winner if he wins the Worlds?
