Some further insights into the Tigrex HBG: it only needs Recoil+2 and Reload+2, reloads speeds are normal and fast (cycle quicker between ammo types), and the explosive part of sticky ammo isn’t affected by affinity!😉 …That said, I just maxed out my Magnamalo HBG (and it is super fun!🥰), so I’m not necessarily looking for another raw HBG…maybe more chainsaw swords it is!😅

Reload speed, recoil reduction and defensive reloading (+2) complements well with tigrex HBG since with decent crit ferocity, it procs not just per hit, it procs per pellet, and blocking it will give you additional 2 ammo. DPS makes it up for lack of elemental bonus damage.

So I'm a huge monster hunter now noob, just got into it a week ago bc my boss mentioned playing it at work. I was wondering which weapon I should go with. I'm currently only level 43 and can kill 4 stars fairly okay by myself but struggle with 5 stars since I haven't figured out which weapon / type etc to build out. Currently I can build a Tigrex weapon and it'll probably be my strongest for now sitting around 546 attack power. Wasn't sure which one to go with that makes fighting easier. Great axe is a little slow and makes dodging harder, same with any guns I've used, always seem to get hit during a slow reload. Not sure if I should go for dual blades or something else maybe?

I hope the next Elder Dragon or Major upgrade monster is weak to fire, unlike this dude. That way we can use our Silver Rathalos gear to wreck it! Maybe poison too, so all those who have Gold Rathian gear can get in on the fun too :)

When you do the calculations for 10.5 weapons, you SHOULD be accounting for any DPS skills the weapons may have built into them...like the level in Critical Ferocity all Tigrex weapons get at G8. If you actually account for the level of CF, 10.5 Tigrex melee weapons actually BEAT 10.5 Black Diablos' by 5.73%, assuming no other DPS skills.

Erm.. actually thats false lol. If you look at the calculation its assuming its firing at 100%. Its impossible to factor that chance in because its a "chance" to increase damage. In other words its not consistent at all. So it MIGHT beat Blos. But it isnt going to consistently beat it.

The actual numbers at least per testing is 33%. If you look at mhn.quest it'll factor it in at 100%. Its a conditional skill anyways that really isnt worth it unless you get lucky.

I need your help because I have no idea where to start with the switch axes in Monster Hunter Now so I can work on the training quests since season 4 has officially dropped these are the ones I have the resources to forge but don't know which 1 to start with Proto Axe 1,Jagras Axe 1,Datura Garden Lumu Axe1,Thunder Axe 1,Carpace Axe 1,Bone Axe 1,Axenosom Axe 1,and finally Sinster Axe 1 I don't know which 1 to start with these are new to me and I have no idea on which 1 is the best out of the ones I have the resources to forge for the 1st time so I can start work on the quests or would it be better to wait on forging any of the switch axes until I've maxed out a weapon and armor any advice would be helpful because I honestly have no idea what is the best move just starting the new season

I wouldnt use a switch axe unless you already have one of the other weapons mastered. Get a 10.5 from something you know. Its not worth going after something new unless you know that weapon.

Why wasn't critical ferocity factored in exactly? Isn't that the main point of the weapon? This would definitely outclass the diablos bow. Definitely not a "super weapon", but i think putting it under diablos bow is a bit misleading.

Its not misleading when you say its "base damage" Plus like I mention Critical Ferocity is a super conditional skill. If you factor it in the calculation it calculates it at 100% which is impossible because its only a "chance" not guaranteed. The only thing misleading is your own self trying to convince you that something conditional is good when its not consistent lol.

Oh none taken! But yeah base damage is something to account for when something has caveats to it. Unless it’s a super weapon then the mechanic itself pretty much offsets the negatives. But Critical Ferocity is just too random to be a reliable source of damage.

Sadly I think volvidon might be the best new weapons having higher damage for paralysis weapons. Lagombi weapons come with lock on at grade 8

The best weapon from tigrex is gs. With skill critical ferocity, resenment and agresive dodger it Will be really really great....
