You always want to persuade the someone with what you CAN give/do, Not what you HAVE done in the past, or time you've already sacrificed

Fair. Inspiring. Resonates. My challenge would be: What do you do if he/she says 'no'? Do you still deliver the ambitious plan without a raise? Do you do less/business as usual? What I'm saying is, that if you link the raise request to the plan, you might get yourself in a difficult position if your request is denied.
