We've just got back from our wreckie trip to Australia, we stayed in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. We did two nights at habitat Noosa and it was possibly the best experiences of our lives! Australian camping is on another level!

This couldn’t be more well timed for us. From the UK and have our first camp trip up near Gympie next weekend and have just spent an obscene amount at Anaconda. My only concern now is whether the esky is big enough for the visit to the bottle shop!

Best family holiday spot is Green Valley Farm, Tingha, NSW. Your children will love it so you will too.

Hello the Johnstons...The reason outdoor cooking tastes so good is from the steady infusing element of the smoke slowly altering your foods chemical nature from the decent bit of wood slowly destroying itself underneath from ravenous flames - doing their own devouring at the same time. Some of Australia's best gumtree Woodstock allows for the best cooked steak and sausages. Plus, an open flame allows for incendiary ashes carried on the wind to enter open pots and saucepans that ultimately enhance culinary flavours to stir-fry's, risotto's, casserole's, boiled water, bacon and egg breakfasts pans to new culinary heights!!! You gotta love it, surely?! Enjoy your work Rob. But please post more of the family out there...camping and enjoying the great Australian outdoors!!!

Spot on Ross. Call me a bit weird but there is a real element to this country when you can get away from the noise and connect with its spirit. Hope to see you around a camp fire sometime for a beer and a chat about how our Broncos are going to do next season.🍻

3:04 You clearly haven’t properly looked at a Kookaburra - or have you been victimized by one stealing your snags 😂 they’re majestic creatures 💙

Some tricks when in the bush:In snake country, wear garters or Snake Protection Chaps; (An old North Queensland Aboriginal trick) near long grass, walk heavily and or about every 10 to 20 metres jump up down for several seconds. That vibrations alert the snakes to move away (sometimes). If you are bailed up by an angry snake; stop and throw your hat to the ground between you and the snake. The snake will watch the hat because of the vibration and the residual heat from your head and you can move away quickly (don't run). For interest: there are a number of bushwalking and outdoor clubs in South East Queensland. Do a First Aid course. The RFDS puts out excellent handbooks aimed at travellers in the Outback. Happy camping.
