One thing that really helped us was having an additional sliding door on the driver side when specced new on lease. It allows parking in tight places with the left side up against a wall/fence/hedge

I have my vans fitted with Marine plywood walls,ceiling and floor including the doors and bulkhead. And lighting is so important. Definitely to have a separate battery system for the main van battery. Specially if you’re going to keep doors open and lights in for a longer period. I also included work lights in the outside of the van side door and back door areas.
@sotaelectrical11 ай бұрын
Yeah I always have my van doors open which is causing problems with the main battery, good to hear I’m not alone with this!! Thanks for your comments!! 👍👍

I think that price is pretty good. As it’s your work space and need to be more efficient. To save time for all your jobs. Good organisation.

Hi mate good video of your van. A out your lights at the back right hand corner where your lights are there is a rubber grommet. If you take it out there should be a wire this is to fit a 12v lighter socket.

Quite a few camper conversions are putting solar on the roof, you can get flexible panels or plastic corner mounts, not sure how much the rails or ladders would block the light though. Van looks good!

I really love how indebted you go to in your videos, you’ve done a great job with this van, I have a transit long wheel base also, I recently went self employed and unfortuanly had my van broken into and all of my Milwaukee PowerTools and battery’s stolen so I love what you have done with the van guard in the rear end, I’m thinking of going for a pickup truck with a back so I can have 2 van guards and a work surface while still maintaining an area for materials above to prevent this again, I feel like a pickup is less of a target for theft personally, I also watched your van security video and thought it was very insightful so that is on the cards also, thanks again for your great content

Great video. Love the look of the van. I have a raised floor in my van as well, but not all the way through. Bit concerned that it would take out all the crumple zones, which wouldn't be good in a crash. Looming forward to watching how you did the lights as I need to.improve mine.

Working out of the boot of a car now trying to get to the point we can get a LWB Transit Connect, would love a Custom, but we do a lot of city centre work and need to be able to get in and out of tight undercroft parking areas…. 🤦🏻♂️🤣

I used LED (kitchen reel) strip lighting to brighten up the interior, cut strips to length under all the shelves and a few lengths across the roof, connected in parallel with switch, work’s very well wouldn’t bother trying any other way for myself. I installed a blade 12v fuse board in the glove box to power the LED’s and other auxiliaries, powered direct from the battery. Probably spent £20.

I would say go with a Jackery rather than a leisure battery. It means you've not just got power for the lights but also any other accessories you may need to use. A leisure battery is good, but I think a Jackery provides that extra flexibility.

Cracking job. If it were my van I’d be fitting a battery and inverter. Fogstar 105ah lithium battery. Victron DC - DC Charger (30a ORION) Victron 1200w Inverter. You could use Renogy gear as it’s a little bit cheaper than the Victron and as good. I did a similar install for my lad in his VW Caddy.

@@sotaelectricalcan I ask, I have just watched your video on the vanguard alarm installation. Have you had many false alarms? I assume it’s set off with vibration, so if there is high winds or a local cat jumping on the van has it gone off? Thinking of this system but with the volume of it I don’t wish to piss the neighbours off if it goes off when it shouldn’t.
