Agreed, that's why Ronnie Coleman from 2003 would blow Phil Heath away. Phil competes in the 240's normally, and Ronnie was up at 280+. The overall size has to matter. And no way would Heath beat Ronnie on the back poses. Phil 2011 was damn good, I will admit. This bubble-gut thing is getting a little crazy . Seems like a bubble-gut is a requirement to win Mr. Olympia now.

You sometimes forget how great this guy is or was. It is hard to find any body builder with the size, shape and fullness he has in every body part. His calves are also crazy to match great leg development plus an otherworldly upper body. With that being said he does not look nasty like many top guys. He puts everything together and he looks great. If he can bring a 2011 version to the 2019 O it is lights out.

2011 for sure. When I see pics from that Olympia they're mind blowing. Just the level of detail and separation Phil had everywhere and how crisp his midsection was, he's never looked that sharp again. Yeah he got bigger and has been just as conditioned like in 2016 but that same level of detail just never came back. His ab separation is nowhere close now, his waist has gotten wider and so has his neck.

I would definitely agree that 2011 was his best year. I'm a big Phil Heath fan and I've met him a few times as well. I think he is going to come in this year either matching or better than 2011 to put an end to all of the criticism of the bubble gut thing. No particular comment on the video, which was very good, but just to say that EVERY man, let alone bodybuilder gets a thicker waist as they age, it's just one of those things that happens to all of us. I have been training for 59 years, I started competing in 1965 and my last comp was in 2004. There are some rare guys that just seem to always have a small waist, but even Oliva, who had a tiny waist, thickened as the years past (RIP).

2008 ironman pro was imo his best shape. His waist was asthetic tight and his symetry top notch. His front double bi and his Abb and thighs were great to look at, I don't know of he injured himself but to me his chest insertions when in the front double looked off every other show thereafter . 2008 ironman pro appearance for me.
