The best Warhammer storage I’ve found!

Hi everyone! This video was genuinely born out of needing a new place to store my marines. I don’t make videos on things I’m not already working on or want to try, I don’t make videos for the sake of making videos.

For the larger models, or models warmag doesn't sell specific sizes for, I found using the excess material you punch the magnets out of works really well for filling those bases and works well. Saving you money and preventing waste.

KZbin is crazy. I've been thinking about storage solutions for a couple of weeks now, tried the diy method and it just didnt really work and it was also far to fiddly for me to keep on doing and then this vid pops up out of nowhere! Cracking product. Buddy bought me some for my birthday. I’ve always green stuffed / superglued magnets onto baking trays, which works, but they don’t always stay stuck or stick too much when trying to remove the mini. These hold perfectly and are so much easier. Also, the off cuts are ideal to use on bigger models, so you get a lot of use out of a sheet!

When I started watching I thought this was going to be just another tutorial video on really useful boxes and tiny magnets. When you indicated that you tried it and rejected it (for good reason) I gave you a thumbs up for doing something unexpected. This alternate system looks pretty neat. I'll give them a look. I would really like to see a solution for models based on solid bases, the ones that are not hollow on the bottom. I have a lot of those so magnet solutions are generally as much a fail as the foam solution. If I could do it over again... but were talking hundreds if not thousands of models. Anyway- GREAT VIDEO.

Thanks for watching and the thumbs up! The same company actually do sell an alternative magnet disk that fits of the base rim rather than inside the base so should work for solid bases like resin ones. Hope that helps 👍

I do the same thing, but with actual metal and it works great. I found that the magnetic sheets weren’t that strong, but hopefully those ones are!

I have 3 dozen of the Plano ProLatch 3700s and 6-7 of the Flambeau Tuff Tainer 7003Rs for my 40K and ASOIAF minis. Works good for storage and carrying to events.

@@rgbminiatures The Planos hold 8 10-man squads of Marines on 32mms or 80 Orks. The Flambeaus have that open back half; it can hold 6 Outriders and a Redemptor Dread or a bunch of Necrons...

These solutions, with magnetic sheets and stickers or magnets are good for storage only, in my opinion. For transportation or anything where the boxes can be bounced or struck there is a high probability of minis detaching and getting damaged. I had an extreme situation where a box like this fell from my hands to the floor and every mini in it detached and ended up piled up in a huge pile on the side of the box it fell on. Several minis ended up broken, and even more ended up with paint getting chipped in places. If this happened with a bag or box with foam trays or inserts, minis would just tumble inside the foam cells. Of course there is still chance that some minis would get damaged in foam cells, but not to the same level as what I described happened to me. I know this is an extreme situation and not something that should happen often, if at all, but it left me suspicious of using these solutions for anything but a storage, to protect the minis from the dust.

Love warmag, if you actually compare the price to foam trays, citadel cases, they come up quite well. At RRP my FULL TAU ARMY fits in £200 worth of warmags. This sounds like a lot, but call that 5 crusade cases at £80 each and suddenyl its a better option.

Been using these on all my models for over a year. They’re a bit pricey, but well worth it because I hated using glue and magnets, too.

my i suggest to also use a luggage strap - that way you can carry 5 or 6 15L BOXES in one go

isnt the magnet meant to stick to the rim not the inside. is why their sizes they sell are perfect for all the base sizes, not 2mm less. plus when u have things inside the base like a pin or plastic edge from newer kits that does not work. but yes, is awesome product.

They sell both now. These are the newer ones designed to go inside. They can be cut too to fit if there’s pins inside, I’ve done a few like that

Depends entirely on what army you have and how many models are in it. 2000 points of Guard looks very different to 2000 points of Custodes

If magnets coming off and being swallowed by little nruglings are a problem id suggest maybe using somthing abit more secure like hotglue gunning magnets/encasing them so that your not relying on super glue which breaks down during cold snaps... regular epoxy putty will give a stronger bond than superglue. Id also maybe give weaker magnets a go that that do the job acceptably and dont "pull" on whatever is keeping it held in there as much. There is also sprue goo/sprue goo plus other filler or even third party bases that have holes for magnets already part of them. Which you could just simply putty over making the likelyhood of a magnet coming out even elss likely. Im not the best with remembering to do this but going as far as to not keep them in their storage box while not gaming with them is also likely a good idea. Since your limiting the amount of time they are being pulled on by the sheet by alot. Or you could do the 200IQ move of making your entire hobby space a no go zone to tiny little people. And have everything tucked away just incase. Or all of the above. Since well lets be honest, Little space men are going to look an awful lot like fancy toys to children. Which they areguably are lol final thought... having a thin layer of foam on the lid and sides of boxes like this probally quite a smart idea too. Since it's basically inevatability that one will come loose somehow at some point. And sods law dictates that it WILL be the one time you go over a speed bump unexpetedly or have to jam the breaks on.

Any thoughts on how to deal with easy build bases? I have a lot of them especially from the leviathan box where they have multiple protruding holes underneath so I cant stick the magnet underneath. Here is an example from yours: 06:38

I’ve cut a few of mine to fit those bases, a sharp knife will go through them easily. Also they do sell an alternative that sits on the outside of the base rim, the magnet is visible but it gets around that problem and I think would work well with resin bases too. Hope that helps 👍

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this will work with models that have the round pegs that go through the bottom of the base... which is an awful lot of the models that I happen to have. Would still have to use individual rare earth magnets on those.

It depends. If it’s only one of two pegs you could easily cut the disk to remove the at section, I’ve done it myself for a few. Also they do sell an alternative designed to sit on the bottom of the base rim, the magnet is visible but it does the same job. Hope that’s useful 👍

You would need to cut them. However they also sell magnets that are designed to sit on the bottom of the base rim instead of inside the base. So they’d be visible but would fit a slotter base with no issue

*Nitpicking.* The argument about little kids in the house versus the small magnets is... Weird. We're constantly cutting small pieces of plastic to glue them together and it doesn't bother you that you can lose those, but magnets (that are pretty easy to find with use of other magnets) actually do? If I had to pick an argument against them, it would totally be the fact how much time we have to spend to glue them under the bases. Anyway, those round things you used are actually pretty awesome and seem really easy and fast to use. Gotta buy some for my Aeldari

Yes but small magnets can be very dangerous if swallowed, more than one can cause tissue to get stuck together internally and can be life threatening. It’s pretty much guaranteed surgery to get them out as quickly as possible. That’s the issue in terms of my kids being exposed to them. But yes I think the time saving aspect of this system is a real selling point. Thanks for the comment and taking the time to watch it 👍

These are very poorly designed useless product. I was looking for new subscriptions but this obviously isn't it. Those little disks are useless with anything BUT the specific bases they are cut for. Did you buy ANY of the new GW start boxes. Well you're screwed and have to buy all new bases and rebase everything OR you can cut those magnet sheets apart. This is a product nobody needed lol. Amazing he's shilling a product he got FOR FREE that is basically a longer process than the way everyone does it and less useful. Guess he's hoping for another sponsor.
