Thanks Randy, fishing here on Lake Glenville. Gin clear most of the year. Most of my fish come from snap jigging like Tom Boley fishes for walleye. Jiggin rap style. I find 26 foot and beyond works for depth. deep rock piles. ledges too. Thanks Randy, good video.

Love it Randy!!! Got a tournament up here in NY. Water temp is up over 70 degrees on a small lake loaded with smallmouth.....my plan was to either flip some docks amd shallow laydowns, OR to hit the deeper (9-14 ft) weedlines with some hair jigs!!!! Thanks Randy! I enjoy making my own hair jigs using a simple fly tying vise and ball head jigs with an assortment of feather, hair and fiber combinations. Inexpensive and they work for stripers as well as small and large mouth bass.

I know I'm older than dirt and yes it's been around nearly as long. I still fish the hair/marabou when things get tough shallow. It use to be a map, graph and marker buoy to put you on a hump or channel. The good ole days when you had a spot to yourself. Yep, they still work quite well.

when do you use the 3/4? I bought all 1/2 oz size due to fish the moment. And his combination, and yet to try it out .but he scienced down the fall rate, and line sizing. Im guessing the upsized line,and more weight would fall the same if tested?

Randy, can you address what Jacob Wheeler said in t the BTL podcast? He said that bass are curious about the noise produced by the forward facing sonar and the fish will actually come towards to boat to see what is creating the noise and at about 40ft they will see the boat and swim away and basically shutdown. I found that very interesting. I don’t fish with the forward facing stuff so I haven’t seen this but he swears he has seen it a lot.
