The best way to inflate your sleeping mat!

Although inflating your sleeping mat with your mouth is the easiest option, it can introduce moisture into the mat, freezing in sub-zero conditions and reducing the overall performance. In warmer conditions, this moisture can also turn to mould. The bag works differently. It sucks in 90% of the surrounding air, while you blow in. Thats why you can fill the bag with one breath instead of 10.

@@tomwall2361no. You blow into it from a distance allowing air from the surrounding area to fill the bag via the vortex effect. That is how it’s meant to be used. Waving it around is how clueless idiots do it.

Sorry but this definitely isn't the best way. Using your own air can allow a lot moisture to get inside the pad and significantly reduce the r rating.

These inflation bags work differently to inflating a mat directly with your mouth and essentially create a form of convection. Little to no moisture ends up in the mat.
