The black overlord seems completely insane. For 1B, you immediately get a mill effect AND get the best creature/planeswalker from your graveyard. Later you'll get a 5/5 as an added bonus. In Golgari, it triggers Beanstalk, and you can remove counters to get that 5/5 faster with Glissa if need be.

It has the synergies but against aggro not sure you can really afford to go beanstalk on 2, then suspend it on 3 without interacting with opponent. Certainly can be wrong on it but that’s the fun part to see

I agree I think it'll be good. I could see it seeing play in a standard reanimation style deck with squirming emergence that wants to mill cards. You could use it to return a Jace the Mind against aggro decks.

Wanted to see reception first, but it’s been positive so I’m going to go through the rares for another video - hopefully tomorrow. I don’t think it’s worth it for commons/uncommons as I’m not heavy into draft version

I really enjoyed this style. Didn’t really check any of the new cards yet so this was super helpful. I think the new white wanderer might be s-tier. New big demon will interesting with reanimator decks. Looking forward to a rares vid.

I think Meathook is going to see a good amount of play as a 4 drop. It has insane mid game potential for any deck playing black against the current meta. Late game against domain it gets you an Atraxa after you go for the troat.

It’s not guaranteed reanimate though. Opponent can just pay 3 life for you to not get it

Totally wrong on how the meathook massacre works . If used properly you could clear your opponent’s board of creature and take them over under your control. You could use tokens to sacrifice or pay 3 mana for which ever creature’s you wanted to keep. Timing is a key and your mana amount you have. Also you needn’t sacrifice creatures and just pay the 4 swamps to activate the cards ability.

The enduring cards aren’t actually mythic in the main set. It’s only the special art in the collector boosters Also I think you are severely underrating the black overlord. Immediately replace itself and fills your graveyard with stuff for delirium and other graveyard shenanigans and becomes a threat later on for only two mana. Might be the best one and only competes with the green overlord because that one slots nicely into an existing deck.

I dont like the green overlord that much. I dont think it slots into domain. It helps you enable domain, but only after you already have 5 lands in play or at turn 7 if you cast it for the impending cost. So in that deck its pretty much a 5 mana ramp spell with a body and an etb that doesnt affect the board. Other than that it just looks like a worse roxanne.

Impending is not like suspend, the overlord does ETB on turn 3 as an enchantment, and then becomes a creature after the time counters are removed

Would also love to see crafting guides for sets - it’s one thing to give a mythic an A, but is it a 4x, or a 2x? That sort of thing 😊

For crafting always suggest crafting decks not cards. Better to have a full set of things you’ll use than random assortment of cards
