One of the main things I learned after 11,000 sales is that you gotta get in early, you gotta find that right product and you gotta build out your store to the fullest. Cheers.

Thank you for the accounting lecture! I’m only commenting to help the algorithm! For 7 , 8 or 9 digits you have to have a super duper solid team of elite players. And that’s where the deca millionaires excel!!

Hello Hannah! My wife and I run an Etsy shop in which we print posters in-house. We are a 1-year old shop, star seller, and have over 5k sales. We want to expand our product line to print some of the same designs on canvas and wood banners, but we want to go the POD route for these. Does it make more sense to open a new, separate shop for these items or to just add them to our existing, established shop, in which case the same shop will contain both in house and POD items? Thank you

Great video again,Hannah! Just a quick question related to actual based accounting. In your cost of goods sold example, you mentioned that CoGS for the credit card is $5 and each gets sold for $10 but I didn’t get the part where you mentioned that the materials of making the credit card is $500. Can you please elaborate on that? Just wanted to understand that from the perspective of it being accounted for accrual based accounting? I just didn’t get that part, thanks.
@EcomHannah
@EcomHannah Жыл бұрын
Yes no problem, New example: So a sale of the card revenue is $10 and your cost of creating that card is $5 (packaging cost, material cost, maybe labor cost to help make the card, etc) so for that sale your COGS is $5, but let pretend for the whole month your total revenue on all sales was $1000 your cost of goods sold is now $500. But lets say in the middle of the month you were running out of materials to make more cards so you went to the store and spent another $2000 on material cost. That does not mean then at the end of the month your expenses were -$2500 it is still only -$500 since those materials are used to make the products that sold.

@@EcomHannah one more question if you don’t mind. I listen to few Etsy seller podcasts and couple of them say they are Top 0.1% of all Etsy sellers worldwide. My question is how do they know this? Does Etsy announce this list of their Top 0.1% shops somewhere?

@@EcomHannah I am more so looking for the most common way to prove that you are telling the truth about your success and that is the live dashboard refresh or a recorded dashboard refresh. All of the e-commerce gurus that are actually legit do it.

@@EcomHannah ok, then I’ll call you a “teacher.” Do you think that schools and/or other teaching opportunities would require the person claiming to be such to prove they are legit? When people come to KZbin, and click on all of the “knowledge,” based content, they want to learn how to do something. Most of the time it has to do with ways of making money. However, they often overlook that a lot of the “teachers,” claiming to be knowledgeable have incentives from KZbin to put out as much content as possible, such as ad revenue, selling a course, etc. The reality is that a lot of the teachers on KZbin are lying about their success without any sort of checks and balances. There is no regulation on free content that is supposed to teach people something. Which there shouldn’t. However, we are left with the issue, are they legit? I’ve seen people follow blindly their KZbin teacher and get their accounts banned because what they were taught violates policy. I’ve seen people get tricked into thinking ecommerce is easy, going in and blowing thousands of dollars or wasting years of their life because they followed some KZbin teacher. You claim you made 945k the first year on Etsy. This is a very bold claim. Can you direct me to live streams in which you show your dashboard live?
@EcomHannah
@EcomHannah Жыл бұрын
I mean, that is the chance you sign up for when you decide to consume free content, but I would say all the Etsy KZbinrs I personally know, Cassiy johnson, ryan hogue, heather studio, Jesse teaches, Ecom Ninja ... do not lie about their numbers. It really is not the purpose of our content either. The alternative I always suggest if skeptical, is do not consume free info and learn like we did without help and figure it out on your own. Which is what I had to do back when no one was sharing free info. But at least that way you can draw conclusions for yourself based on your own data you collected and not from someone else's. Check out my P&L breakdown video in my Etsy playlist also I have hours of Etsy PPC videos where its straight inside my ads account. Also I think a lot of your skepticism sounds like from you setting improper expectations so check out my "Why Etsy Sellers Fail" video, this may help. Also you are correct business is hard and ecommerce is not easy and that is why I constantly reiterate that I am not here to sell the dream. I spent 2 years before I made any real money eating sh** basically haha. The winning here IF you are actually looking to become an entrepreneur is to 1. not give up and 2. Put your energy and time into things that will drive results! Best of luck!
