I bought the 1968 Thunderbird at 19:23. A victim of vandals, it needs all glass, a trunk lid and taillamps, but runs and drives and is amazingly rust free. I will put her back on the road, she's way too nice to crush. Most interest was in the low mile 429 to rip out, but I couldn't let that happen.

While there, I was able to score a full set of wheel covers, and all the factory manuals, owner's manual and 68 Tbird brochure. I sure love going to the Pate!

I really should have gone over to it a checked it out. At least it was saved from becoming a donor. Try browne Auto Salvage in Sunset TX for the glass

At 34:27, was that entire table of fender skirts for 1962 Chevy Impalas? Fabulouso. I'm a Ford man, who owns two Mustang GTs, but those Impalas and El Caminos of the late 50s/60s are works of art.

I bought a 1980 blue 2dr olds 98 in 1985 , paid $1200 at salvage yard. It had a busted fiberglass header, guess it was enough for the insurance company to total it out. I was in the body shop business at the time so I pieced /grafted on another half and shazzam perfect car. Kept her around for a few years and traded her off. Didn't see many 2drs back then either.
@ClassicRideSociety2 жыл бұрын
2 door 98s from the early 80s are pretty rare. Ive never spotted one in the junkyard. Had that one been in better shape I would have checked it out. I like them better than the 2 door caprice of that time.

The 1966 Ford Ranch Wagon at 18:53 was the bargain of the meet. Sold for under 5 grand. It had so much favorable interest, and the seller remarked that he sold it way too cheap. Original paint and needing nothing. A 352 in it.

Love your vids. Been following you for a while. Question for you. What does a 5.3 and 4L80e combo sell for in your area. I'm in Louisiana.
@ClassicRideSociety2 жыл бұрын
5.3s are a dime a dozen. The pick n pull yards are littered with them. Around $300 gets one. Best time though it when they have half off sales. 4l80s are a different story. They are more rare and sought after. Last place that had one with a 6.0 they wanted $600 each

I missed about 10-15% of the swap meet and I was there since Wednesday 😄. Problem was that more vendors came everyday through Sat. I would have liked to have gotten video of it when it was off the trailer. Didn't think they'd bring it off the trailer. Not only did they bring it off but they ran it down the side of the parking lot!

@stevedriver1476 Жыл бұрын
A lot of these cars would sell if they were washed and cleaned out,, presentation is poor on some very saleable cars. The Pepsi cans in the Gold Fairlane/ cyclone looking thing would sell if it was cleaned out and detailed for 2,3 hours. Us stupid Aussies are allways looking for good tidy units to rebuild. AND import.
