This was an epic day to be on the streets of Brighton. This same set includes "Paint It Black", "War Pigs", and an original, "Watch Out".

A man of many voices. Everything Ren does is either fun, sad, outrageous, crazy, deep with meaning, or educational. Ren is an enigma, he is just so talented. His singing, musical talent with many instruments, acting, narrating and performing is just so perfect, it must be an innate talent! I have been to many concerts and live plays and can see that what he does and is capable of doing is amazing with his health issues, the wisdom of the ages, and only 33!

Every time he performs, he gives it all as if he were rocking’ out to a crowd of 50,000. Have you watched them do War Pigs. Ozzy would be proud but seriously Ren is like he is giving a huge concert, especially in that video.

From this same set you should listen to their version of war pigs, then their version of "An Englishman in New York"-"Bongo Bong (Manu Chao cover) rooftop version. then your in the rabbit hole that is Ren.

I love everything Ren does but I especially love him with an instrument in his grip..it seems he walked out of the womb grooving with a soulmate in guitar form.

He's said that he knew at age 10 he wanted to be a musician - and that he's only had 2 music lessons, because he couldn't get what the teachers were teaching because of his ADHD. So when there was a sound or technique he wanted, he learned from youtube... going through tutorials until he found one that worked, or... with Jimi Hendrix - playing everything slowed way down until he could do it. This is a guess - but I think if you don't have lessons you're more likely to grow up unconfined by rules and genres. (But of course, if you aren't also enormously driven and gifted, you don't learn at all.) But if you're determined, you go by what sounds right instead of what "should" happen next. He's said that he hears music as shapes, and then he fits the shapes together..... so... synesthesia, maybe?

@@introvertialxoI believe they named a restaurant there after one of his songs, Freckled Angels. The song was written in memory of his friend Joe Hughes who jumped from the Menai bridge and whose body was never recovered. He spoke about it in depth in his recent interview with Knox Hill.

Love your reactions! "I Shot The Sheriff" is by Bob Marley as you know, "Road To Zion" is by Damian Marley (Bob's son) and "Hip Hop" is by Dead Prez but the song that isn't mentioned is by DJ Luck & MC Neat called "A Little Bit Of Luck" (although it sounds like he changed the lyrics to "with a little bit of "love" instead of luck)

So good, so tight knit and FUN - their enjoyment doing what they do just shines through...... and Ren, well.....he's just a creative musical and performing entity just love them - you must check out some more WAR PIGS deffo!! thanks

Big Push War Pigs is best for me (RAtM mash up and guitar solo from Romain is off the charts). Wade in the Water fantastic too, we hear Goran sing after he fixes Ren's guitar strap. Needless to say Ren is consistently excellent. Somebody said on one of his collabs with Sam Tomkins that ST is better technically, may be true but there is something about Ren's voice that draws me in with whatever he is doing (Rap, spoken, Reggae Ska and rock he does it all). For something different his songs with Eden Nash (Ocean and Humble) just wonderful. If you react to any of these I will be watching them (I have subscribed in case you do).
