I am not ashamed of my yarn stash! We need to all say that. This morning, before seeing this video, I went into my office and took all the yarn out of my cubbies. Cleaned the cubbies (because Texas has bugs no matter if you spray or not) and put more lavender sachets in the bin and sorted away. I am going to a knitting retreat this weekend and there will be a discard table there. I hope to give a lot of yarn away! If it doesn't move I will donate more to charity. I also put all the skeins in plastic bags. We don't have moths here but we have silverfish and they love wool and cotton so I make sure to keep those yucky things away from the yarn!

For a give away idea - Find a pattern that can be completed with a few skeins of yarn. Take one of your project bags and include a printed pattern, the yarn and maybe like stich markers or some other notion. Helps get rid of multiple things from your stash!

Love the organization videos. It must be the season because it’s in my agenda. I discovered some I forgot I had that can be used in hubs socks I just cast on. I did some project planning several weeks ago that was actually inspired by you. I put 20-30 projects into bags and zip locks with the patterns to keep focused. I also added most to Ravelry. It was encouraging to know I only need to shop for two projects this year. Hi to Toaster and Kent. Take care.

I'm so excited for this organization series! I love watching you go through and organize! I can't wait to see all the pretty yarns and fibers too! I've been really working through my stash recently and I'm down to some pretty "boring" colors (they will make some beautiful projects though!), so it will be fun to see all the colors in yours! Can't wait to see how you organize!

You could always post some of the yarn that you don't want on your etsy store and donate the proceeds to a foundation of your choice. Local animal shelter for an example.

Channeling my best Samantha the witch..well? At least it’s a start! My categories are usually yarn by weight, sock sets, solids, minis, scraps. My trouble is in using up the yarn scraps. My Battenberg is sleeping too until I finish the Sweet Shop blanket. Find it’s easier to focus on one pattern at a time. Now take a deep breath! And hugs to Toaster. 🤗

I too am not ashamed of my yarn stash... BUT with that being said, I am ashamed of how well I have been able to keep it organized/sorted. I use to keep all of my stash in bins/totes, pretty much all over the house. Then when our youngest daughter moved out, my husband transformed her bedroom into my craft room. I have 40 cubicles and 4 large tote shelfs to hold my stash but they are all full and I have boxes/bins/totes and project bags piled everywhere.... Got way more than 30 minutes ahead of me for getting it all organized!!

@@KnittyNattysome donation yarn; some surprises (yarn I forgot about!); way too many needles - need to revisit my needle collection to cull; MANY wips! - this was a surprise. I need to do my yarn so badly. My goal is to put it all on Ravelry. I love him; he helps me choose yarns for projects. That's 8ncredibly helpful. I'd like to organize a system so I could photograph it all to make it easier to add. I like all brands together so that I can do a lot of copy and paste rather than do much typing to help save time. I have taken many pictures because they all need to be photographed, but that might waste my time looking for past images if I want to simplify this monstrous goal.

love the video! always so satisfying to see organizing and sorting. One thing though, and I'm not sure if it's a problem on my end. But each time it seems you're starting a new sentence the sound seems to start out very low and as if you're in a tin can or something until the audio adjusts. At least when you're talking directly to the camera.

So now, before the April 2025 fiber festival that my knitting group attends, I am trying to knit or crochet ~350 yards a day. It's harder to do than I thought!
