Dragons' Den

3 жыл бұрын

A former New York magazine editor, Huw Gwyther is seeking an investment of £175,000 and in return, he's prepared to give away a 17.5% equity stake in his new venture 'Wonderland'. Wonderland is an international, independently published magazine offering a unique perspective on the best new and established talent across all popular culture: fashion, film, music, and art.
Huw Gwyther secured a £175,000 investment from Peter Jones to launch WONDERLAND in the finale of the first season of Dragons' Den filmed in late 2004.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I think sometimes as an investor, you need to realise no matter how saturated a market is, when the right kind of determined guy comes along, he will be able to cut a very profitable piece out of it. Even though the other dragon's arguments were valid, i feel Peter Jones recognised this. He was investing in the person, moreso than in the brand. Great clip!

That was such an incredible renegotiation on the part of Peter Jones. Reducing the girls % stake, but offering her share incentives may actually mean she earns so much more potentially, so it really became a win win situation, seemingly in the matter of a few moments. Extraordinary!

it's been a long time since I've watched the earlier series, and although i think he's made offers, I really don't think he's been successful in obtaining investment (but I could be wrong);, but then again, he wasn't on the show for long anyway.
