In today's video we finally install the new lift for the Tacoma! I decided to go with an OME kit, with 886x coils and 9000 shocks up front along with a 1/4 inch top plate spacer and SPC upper control arms. This will provide roughly 3 inches up front. I will have a before/after measurements video so stay tuned for the rest of the build for the Tacoma by subscribing to our channel! There was so much footage that I had to break it up, so look for the rear install video coming next!!
Installing the upper control arms on my 3rd gen Tacoma was actually not too hard. The long bolt came right out and we only had to bend the fender liner a little bit. The overall installation of the lift kit struts for the front went in just like factory. If you are thinking of installing a lift kit yourself on a Toyota Tacoma, go for it! Super easy!
I'm excited to put the 33 inch tires on the truck once the lift is installed!

I just had Bilsteins and Coils put on my 06 4Runner Sport and trust me, it was costly because I had all 4 done. I can appreciate the time and know how they have putting this together. I just wish I had the know how in order to do it. I do my tune-ups, but that's about my limit, because honestly, I just don't trust myself doing anything like this. Great job.

The "taco lean" you speak of is based on incorrect install of side specific springs. Most shops have no clue. OME makes side specific springs for toyota to accommodate drivers weight and fuel tank. So it sits leveled with full tank and driver in truck. I had 2 shops install my 4runner springs incorrectly causing a lean to drivers side. When swapped the lean is gone. This term became about as if its toyotas design flaw, rather user error.
@BrosFOURRSpeed

Ahh ok thanks for the explanation on that, I've never done full coils before on a lift, so I wasn't entirely sure.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed you guys did a great job on the install. Good attention to detail and everything. You mention you never had a taco lean is because either was stock suspension or properly installed lift. Either way if theres a lean theres a problem haha. Looking forward to finished truck!

This is an OME lift kit, I got about 3.5'' up front and 3'' in the rear. I didn't go with King or Fox because you are just paying for the name. While they are good and reputable, I spent 1/3 the price and have zero regrets with this kit! I still have it and truck rides great and performs well off road! hey my friends, I just installed that lift kit too, you guys helped me a lot to decide . I have some issues, the first one I have a little vibration on the back differential, I ordered the driveline shim 3* to correct the angle, I hope this work. I also buyed the toytec TP14 spacer (1/4") to correct the front lift. Do you really recommend a spacer on the front? After three years with this mod, what is your opinion on OLD MAN EMU suspension lift kit on your Tacoma?
@BrosFOURRSpeed
@BrosFOURRSpeed 3 жыл бұрын
Glad this helped you with your! And I love this kit, it's still riding great with no issues! The vibration in the back I'm not sure about, the shim should help correct that, but I didn't have any issues with mine. I go back and forth on the front differential spacer kit I put on. I'm sure it was fine without it and a lot of people say the 3rd gen tacoma doesn't need it. It was $40 bucks and I still have that installed and just going to keep it on. I don't have a good answer on that, so if you want to install it, it's not crazy expensive to help with the CV angles.

Sorry for overwhelming you with all these questions but I really don’t know who else to ask and get an honest answer, I’ve asked some lift shops around my area but I feel as if their answer is more meant to persuade me to purchase one of their products more than answering my questions. If you want to reuse the bolts. It only had like 1/8 of an inch it needed to clear, so really not much damage.

There's way to much content to just make 1 video, it would be like an hour long or more. Some people want to see the install so they can do this on their own truck and have a how to, to look at.

Way to destroy a more than capable off road truck. Lifting weights is cheaper than lifting a truck for more self confidence. Full size truck would have been easier to lift instead of destroying your little Tacoma with pliers and hammer.
