True. People like to diminish his accomplishments because they think being self motivated is not as strong as being motivated by others, which is not always true. Goku kept getting more and more plot armor and Jiren managed to dig deep every time and overcome Goku. If Jiren had training from an angel and was gifted destroyer powers like top, he would probably be able to give the grand minister a run for his money.

They had banners at stadiums with crowds that would equal that of a Super Bowl game. People were just as invested in this episode as they were with playing detective with Zamazu and Goku Black. You should watch some manga on the goku black arc, tournament of power, and the granolah and moro arc on KZbin because in manga the TOP is completely different but still similar Also there is theroy going around that When 17 made his wish the 6 Universes that Zeno already erased before the TOP might have came back. I really hope that they dive into that because one if my biggest questions in Super was why did he erased them and what were their Deities like. But I feel like once you have witnessed the godly acts of power in Dragon ball Z and Dragon ball Super, it would be hard to go back to little Goku again fighting against mediocre opponents such as evil Krillan or evil Tien. At least with Dragon Ball GT the fights and power levels are similar to what we get in Dragon ball Z.

Steph!!! This is crazy for me too seeing you get to the end of Super. It's been a real treat watching you grow with DB since your very first episode of abridged, to DBZ Kai and then Super. Your reactions to these final episodes were just as I expected them to be and more. When you do get to the original DB though, I think you'll enjoy it...especially the tournaments. As for Super, indeed there is the Broly movie and the Superhero movie. The series you mentioned at the end is the newest series that just released, DragonBall Daima. It is the last thing (that we currently know of) that Toriyama worked on and it's beautiful! Takes place before DB Super but just after the defeat of Buu. Damn, it's still crazy to me that you've reached this point. The Majin Buu ending was perfect as well, they brought back the Spirit Bomb. It was a great choice to finish off Buu because he kept regenerating and seems like there's no way to win. Reverting back to his original form was kind of like a blessing to them because he was pure evil, and the Spirit bomb destroys evil.

Fantastic ending and adaptation. the only things that bother me a little are that 1) they didn't animate the tournament of the gods of destruction. 2) they didn't show master roshi dodging jiren's attacks. 3) they made Kefla more powerful than she actually is given that in the manga she is equal to Mystic Gohan. otherwise, it was a wonderful trip!

I believe that they took a few of the top animators from One Piece for these last few episodes of DBS, alongside the DBS animators as well. They didn't hold anything back and gave the series a proper stopping point. Once the manga gets animated (Post TOP, but pre DBS: Super hero) The fight with the next villain may top this one.

I would absolutely hate if they ended the episode on a next episode wrap up. I hope that Super continues with the manga arcs but I think this was a perfect ending point for what they did. When the best fight was over, it was over. My last memories of the series were Goku and Frieza taking out Jiren and Goku training with Vegeta at the end of this episode until the Broly movie came out and that was perfect. I would not have wanted my last memories to be some boring side character stuff. It should be the hype at the end.

I really liked all your reactions about the studio continuing the Dragon Ball story. The manga is still going, but after Toriyama passed away, I heard there are two companies fighting to take the rights for the Dragon Ball series. Maybe this is why the new season of Dragon Ball Super will come later and not very soon. about the new series of dragon ball (dragon ball daima) it's the last work toriyama did before he died and it takes place after the buu saga and before battle of gods .

Just be aware that the OG Dragon Ball was less fighting and more (mostly lowbrow) humor... especially when comparing it to the rest of the series overall. And yes there is fighing but a majority of it is reserved for tournaments and a couple of actual opponents toward the latter half of the series

Tbh I don’t really like these transformations, powers and episodes. They just stand there and apparently they’re doing something incredible of great power and then randomly get hit, the visuals don’t translate the effects either and how powerful they are, and all the constant dialogue to every move makes it even more cringe.
