One suggestion I would have is: maybe in the background of each “checkpoint”, is like a tall, black line that the player can see and di towards as a true checkpoint for when they are falling. It could be as tall as that area theme or like by a screen worth, just to make it easier to avoid the long climb back up as often kinda thing. Cool video though and looks fun regardless!

Maybe try to create checkpoints with blocks that can be destroyed or something? I know it will take more resources but probably is worth the fun. Imagine you have all teleports at the bottom but you end up in a box unless you reach that point from outside that can bomb the box.

I think this one was a bit too punishing. Something can be hard and still addictive, but if it feels unfair it just makes players want to quit. One suggestion could be giving cFive more opportunities to save himself. Or maybe give him a limited amount of shortcuts he can use to skip sections. That way if a section is really making him struggle he knows he can spend a checkpoint and skip it. Just a few thoughts.

there's a lot you can do with near infinite size stages, you could make a normal stage, but the blast zones are so far out that the only way to get kills is to knock them so far away they can't recover

This reminds me of myself with one of my brothers (and sometimes other friends). I would take so long making a custom map on a game for them on starcraft and warcraft. Or even making a board game.
