These are my favorite jobs to do, with the exception of worrying about metal debris and glass. It’s visually rewarding to look back at the end of the day and see what’s been accomplished!
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
This is the biggest one of these I’ve done and it was very rewarding. I’m going to go back and rake up the debris and remove some of the stumps so that they can keep it mowed down

At $50/hr, you're lucky to break even with all the over head you have...and you're worth more than that. Glad you didn't damage your cab with all the over head branches. The very first time I took my tractor to cut a lawn, I lost both side mounted lights on my ROP, due to trees. One last thing, never, but NEVER allow people to be standing that close when brush hogging. That is just a recipe for disaster or injury. Would hate to see that kid with the pole saw take some shrapnel, flying out of the back end of that shredder. Be safe, have fun. Good video.

Everything you said is accurate and I appreciate it. I started off almost working for free and as I improve my skill set, I’ve been raising what I charge so it makes more sense. Thank you for watching

Great video, please include a little more about the “economics” of the jobs you are doing with your tractor. For example telling us how much you are charging and how you feel about it. It’s the main reason why I am subscribed. Awesome channel so far, keep up the good work!

This is my fourth video specifically about paid tractor work. I’m generally Just trying to get $50 an hour. Stump grinding will be a higher per hour return Everyone has been telling me that is under charging, but I’m in a lower cost of living area and I have been happy with the returns I’m getting. I worked on this job from 10 AM to 4 PM so I made $300
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
Obviously there are associated cost. My insurance is $300 a year and you have fuel and wear and tear on the equipment but I haven’t really tried to put numbers to that stuff yet

You might want to eventually try the hydraulic offset flail mower for better maneuverability. A full day rental might be an option in your area. The hydraulic version is nice for fence rows and ditches as well as for causing fewer scratches on your machine plowing through the brush. Mine, the WoodMaxx 62” with hammer flails, is holding up nicely on anything I can push over but it does warn to only mow in the forward direction.

I would really like to have an offset flail mower. Hopefully within the next year I can make that happen Thanks for the feedback

Try walker razor slim it brings the sound down to safe levels but allows you to hear everything outside. They were designed for at the gun range to muffle the shot but still able to hear range instructors. They would do good for open cab tractors.

Brock, great video! I noticed that you filmed greasing the rear PTO shaft shield but not the actual u-joint. I'm having a nightmare of a time on my Frontier mower. Do you have any hacks for getting to that rear u-joint beyond just taking the shield completely off?

Hey man, I have asked for advice from a lot of other tractor channels. Still haven’t gotten what I need although they were very helpful. I have the skills from working for other companies and I had enough so I bought my own set up like yours only kubota, not with some green implements like bush hog like your . I love green and orange . So my question is , how to I get calls for work . I have done Facebook groups, Craigslist, local newspapers add, and given out cards. Still no calls and I thought this tractor investment would be a safe one and I must say I’m pooping my pants now because still no work . I have a family of 3 kids they depend on me . I hav been hustling bush trimming but that crap sucks to be honest.I need leads ! I do good work and for great prices too . Help me! 😀😫

I only do tractor work part time and I don’t try that hard to get the jobs because I don’t want to do it full-time. Word of mouth and Facebook is what I do. I have advertised a few times and got some results. For that I just created to Facebook post and then clicked boost post. That’s no fun either because you’re spending money with no guarantee of results. Digginlife21 is a good channel for someone really wanting to make money. Even though he mainly uses bigger equipment, he talks a lot about the business side
@bradbruggeman67453 жыл бұрын
The mx6 probably would have been better suited for that project. But that Bush hog would probably be too heavy for that tractor.
@RockhillfarmYT3 жыл бұрын
I have been wishing I went with the MX6. That is about the only place I went cheap when buying and I think that extra thousand dollars would’ve been well spent. It’s a 38 hp tractor and according to the spec sheet I can run it
@bradbruggeman67453 жыл бұрын
@@RockhillfarmYT I got a 3039r last year and went with the mx5. I love it and it is a beast. I have mowed down small trees the size of my wrist with no damage or denting out the side of my deck. I considered the mx6 but thought wieght would be an issue since I prefer to Bush hog with my loader off.

That’s exactly the problem. It’s cutting through everything I have went over but it’s bending in the back of the deck Thanks for sharing your experience

@@RockhillfarmYT On My last job had a 2 acre plot that hasn't been touched in over 5 years. Thought for sure I was going to tear something up. I backed over it all to keep from scratching the tractor up and never bent anything including the chain bracket. I was amazed. Made me a believer in the little mx5. Open station with loader,mid pto,3rd scv,mx5,bb2072 box blade and rb2172 blade.

Depends on the job. If it is short passes, then it takes longer to turn around then to go back-and-forth. It can also depend on what you’re driving over I cut a 49 acre property and never mowed backing up at any point because it doesn’t make sense in a big field

Looks very nice! Heck of a job. I think you're drastically undercharging for your work though. Shoot, most tradesmen get about 50.00 an hour (on the check) now, electricians and some others far more. And they're not having to depreciate a 40K (?) investment to do so. I'd be at a MINIMUM of a hundred bucks an hour if I was using your exact same equipment. Gotta make the tractor pay for itself and pay yourself as well.
