I am Filipino living in Maryland. Just discovered your show and found myself enthralled by the value of the nuances I watched. Thank you. My sister lives in Japan and I am hoping to visit again, now with the learned eyes.

Loved this. Agree 100% punk's influence dwarfs hip hop's in Japan.

Regarding the point of effortlessness and vintage, I think that’s worth its own video! Would love to see that expanded upon

Just finished booking my lifelong dream of visiting Japan. Gonna go next year on a tour with a stop through Harajuku, hopefully I get enough time to peruse the small streetwear shops!

Hi Regs, I’d love to see you do something on Japanese men’s jewellery designers besides Goro. Seeing that you also like sterling silver rings, pendants, necklaces etc. Btw as a Belgian myself, I love how you mentioned the influence of the big Belgian designers. Even in Paris they think Maison Margiela is French (it’s not! Martin Margiela is a Belgian and like Yohji Yamamoto, he established his brand in Paris.)

Admittedly , I don't know much (nothing) about fashion, but with all the myth Japanese culture built around French culture, I'm surprised to see that we did not let more of an influence in fashion, do you have any idea why that might be?
@THECASUALco Жыл бұрын
Actually French fashion is a big influence in Japanese fashion but it’s far less direct. It’s more of a “chic” or “smart” influence. That Japanese people are incredibly chic and thoughtful when in comes to fashion styling much like French and Parisian style. It’s the reason things are so well put together
