It seemed like a lot of people didn't like WAW family visit, but I really enjoyed it. With a few exceptions (Fairplay), the family visits bring out such raw and powerful emotions from the players. Unlike many other reality shows Survivor does get some serious authenticity cred, but clearly the modern era players not only understand the game but also the tv aspect of it. However, the family visits really bring out the players genuine side. I understand the reason for the visits going away, but I hope they come back.

I loved it! I don’t really care about the challenge or who gets to go on the family visit or any of that crap, all I really want out of it is that initial 10 minutes of emotional reactions where the loved ones run out. Not everything in the show has to be strictly about the game, I think it’s nice to just learn more about the players and their family situation. Imo, they should just always give everyone the loved ones visit so they can get a bit of reprieve from the game but also, I think it spices up the game as the players would be able to use their loved one to provide an outside perspective on the game.
@SRFAA7 ай бұрын
At the time of airing, the main complaint that I saw was that because of how long the family visit was we were unable to see much strategizing going on that episode. So basically, it wasn't the visit itself people had an issue with but not enough runtime for the episode.

Samoa loved ones visit was cut so they could use the budget to add 2 more players into the game. It was originally meant to be 18, but they added Erik Cardona and Ashley Trainor (who were originally alternates) the day before the game started. This was revealed in Erik's Quarantine Questionnaire.
@freddytang21282 жыл бұрын
I wonder what is the cost of doing family visits. You have to fly in a person, and give them maybe 3 days of accommodation. That’s maybe 2 or 3k a person? Production couldn’t afford like 30k for family visit? 🤔

lisa's brother calling lisa "sister" and just never saying her name reminds me of the people that do the english subtitles for anime. everytime a character says "onee-chan" or "nii-san" or "aniki", the subtitles just always say "brother" or "sister" or "big bro" or "big sis" it can come off very strange when people are unaware of the taboo of saying your elders' names, without a special term, in, not only Japanese culture, but just Asian culture as a whole. im thinking that lisa and her brother probably grew up similarly, and he just never called her "lisa" his entire life, so just continues not to ig
