I so tired of people deeming who is a Christian or who is not based on how you dress or look. I know someone in my family who believes a woman will go straight to hell if she does not wear pantyhose to church. The Bible says that man looks at outward appearance but God looks on the heart. Some the most covered up, conservative women in church are scandalous. I've seen it.
@vanessazitha99493 жыл бұрын
Covering up doesn't mean you are a perfect Christian or that you will not fall, God does care about our Physical appearance in terms of how we dress that's why we are commanded to be modest and that's true we shouldn't judge who's Christian or not based on one thing that's against God's will cause everybody is struggling with some sin and everybody does fall sometimes, just because somebody has a problem with lying doesn't mean they aren't Christian just like somebody who's struggling with modesty but we should never make Christians feel like it's okay to be modest cause God sees their heart etc, God is clear that He wants us to be modest in His word

Why is it so important to some women to wear revealing clothing? It seems to be a very sensitive and contentious subject. Is it worth it? Are women wearing revealing clothes in inappropriate situations in order to cause controversy? No one is criticizing women for wearing sexy clothes to night clubs. We're talking about church and she was very visible. This is a matter of pride and a rebellious spirit.
@lifeisbeautiful94555 ай бұрын
Thank you!!! I know this video is old but I agree… and God says to dress modest. Everything Megan does is of a rebellious spirit. She loves to look sexy and turn heads. I remember when she used to wear black spandex all the time. My ex said a few times is that all she wears is spandex and tight clothes? She’s grown up in Hollywood, said that she wants to be taken seriously as an actress, like on the cover of rolling magazine but she’s on the front in lingerie… Way too many worldly Christian women keep defending her right to wear what she wants and that’s wrong. All her roles except for a few, she’s the sexy girl, the sex scenes and not love scenes. Even in the new movie with Tyler, still dressing sexy and she’s supposed to be going through something but still wants to look good in every shot. Megan is doing what promiscuous women do, saying they can have sex with however many men, because it’s their body, she’s doing that with her attire. Objectifying herself like other women, but they say they don’t want men to objectify them. She doesn’t want to be a modest chaste woman at all. She has a problem with the church because there are rules God put in place and she doesn’t to follow it, she wants to be that “it” girl. It’s like she’s uncomfortable in covering up but feels better in harlot clothing but saying she loves Jesus and God but it doesn’t reflect. She said she doesn’t feel like she’s doing anything wrong and God looks at the heart. One foot in the world and one foot in with God. It’s definitely a rebellious spirit. Not attacking her, she’s pretty but cover up. Even at Johnathan court, her outfit, her breast was out, always wanting to make sure that even in the worst situation, she looks good.

One thing is true. While it lasted, they did appear to be a true couple, especially for celebrities. It was good to see Megan can do a relationship and it doesn't have to be all about her. Omg I was saying the same thing!! The scripture tells us that God hates divorce. According to the word of God you don’t divorce because you have an issue or problem. They even said no one was at fault so I’m assuming no one was unfaithful. It appears they made a decision out of their flesh and that’s not being spirit lead. That’s being flesh lead. Being married is a ministry! Not an idea or option! This hurts my heart because we need to seek God! Any time there’s a divorce, God is not at the center for one or the other, or both!

I don't know what happen behind closed doors, but I am not that surprised about the divorce, other than it took too long to happen. I think Meagan called & attracted that attention on her. Looking at it on a corporal pt of view, regardless of your beliefs, there's a place, and time to dress & act certain way. I think that She wouldn't meet with the president, go to a job interview showing up that much skin. So why must it be acceptable as a Pastor's wife. Where's the level of classy & decency? Not all nonsense are appropriate or should be accepted as beautiful. Also, love requires comprehension, communication, compatibility or consideration; so if it was a problem for his ministry, why couldn't she adjust & made a little sacrifice for both of them. Beautiful, Gravity & priorities in life are important and needed in order to be successful. Hopefully, they can reconsider this decision, since they believe that God put them together. Because if it is a divine connection, there should not be a separation between them. GOD NEVER LIES OR GOES AGAINST HIS WORDS!

They were just not compatible. As a preacher's wife you are expected to have some sort of decorum. Criticism of that should be expected. You're not simply a Christian but your are wife of a "man of God." You're held to a pedestal. So, yes you're expected to carry yourself a particular way. Their problem was Devon knew that wasn't Meagan's calling and Meagan knew that too. They were a mismatch, and both of them are at fault because they knew that. If people were critiquing the way a wife of a Muslim minister presented themselves in a way that wasn't palatable, no one would question it because we hold every other religion sacred except Christianity. I'm not validating the way people critiqued her, but that fact that they did critique her because the way she shows up as a preacher's wife is expected. Similarly it would be expected that spouses of religious leaders/teachers of other religions hold themselves in a way that is consistent with the tenets of that religion. If you can't do that step down and live a life that wouldn't welcome that type of criticism in connection with religious beliefs as a leader or a spouse of a leader.

People are knocking the church for having standards. Modest apparel is a Godly principle, not a church principle. But further, we all dress for our roles in life out of respect and expression. Imagine if you went to court and the judge was dressed revealing - would you trust his/her judgement? Or the doctor handing down a diagnosis while cleavage is out, or interviewing with HR personnel dressed like they were going to the club. Let alone a preacher's wife, upholding the Word of God but always dressed scantily clad and actively participating in career-driven endeavors that emulate sex with different men. Our attire is an extension of our self expression and it communicates for us to add or detract from our credibility of who we say we are and the roles we are in each day. And our actions speak way louder. Megan is beautiful and she's sweet, but let's face it, she wasn't ready for that level of commitment because it takes real maturity. She's still growing. Look at Harlem - that's the real Megan - Beautiful, intelligent, confused about love and relationships.

The lady criticizing Megan sounded like a big ole outta shape bitter lady. Women like that want other women to cover up not for religious reasons but selfish reasons aka insecurity. Beautiful women who own it make other women who are not on the same level feel a way, same as they make men feel a way. If anything cover up for your safety and evil eye than "religious" reasons. Religion is now owned by man and driven by man. They act like religion is simply how much skin u show or don't show yet they sin in every other aspect. I personally never hurt or used anyone. I'm a good member of society and have a good helpful job as a teacher. I'm also a virgin at 29! And yet people only focus on my clothes. Not because of the clothes itself either but how I look in it. And they try to bring god into it. No it's not God it's u that feels a way and has a problem with it.

Exactly, you couldn’t have said it better. I am still a virgin at 24 and I grew up super religious and I had the same ridicule as Megan from the age of 15 because I dressed in a manner to embrace my feminine energy, in clothes they would sexualize. But the funny thing was the girls who were fully covered up and seemed innocent were the ones having sex and getting pregnant. Life is all about discipline and not over indulging in self gratification. The way religious organizations choose to measure holiness, purity, wholesomeness, and goodness is warped. I blame society as a whole for socializing young women from a young age to be ashamed of embracing their unique feminine energy.

When a woman chooses to dress in revealing attire, SOMETHING is driving her to do it. There is an ENERGY behind this behaviour, & it is this energy that the Bible has a problem with. If you are showing the shape & skin of your breast, the entire shape of your body, what purpose can that serve other than to elicit sexual energies from all that view you? A woman can change the entire energetic frequency of a room by entering it wearing attire that solicits sex. By their fruits you shall know them, meaning if what you want men & women to do is to enter a sexual frame of mind when they see you, you are basically a seductress, & why are you trying to seduce when you are suppose to be doing God’s work? Being just celebrated 15 years on my 2nd marriage. The Lord told us, If you love me you’ll keep my commandments. The only tough areas we have had in our marriage was obeying what God said how we should treat each other. We decided and agreed to let Gods word have the final say so. Best decision we ever made for our marriage 🙂🙂🙌🏾

For me, I will always say this to my young men. There's no need to rush into marriage, especially if you're in the Christian faith. Keep working on yourself, praying and asking God to prune your rough edges daily. With the way things are these days, you need to be even extra careful, consider everything before entering because that one decision can make you or unmake you.

After finishing the sitcom Harlem, I immediately thought about Devon and his seemingly lack of support concerning Megan's career. I think Devon bit off more than he could chew and got tired of defending his wife- whether it was her choice of dress or her career aspirations which sometimes involved sex scenes. The sitcom was probably what pushed the envelope and was too much for him to brush off or overlook. Megan doesn't seem as though she's one to be placed in a box- which I think behind the scenes Devon tried to do. He was not prepared for everything that came along with dating and later marrying Megan. Megan is a great actress and she embodies her sexiness and is quite comfortable in her skin while "Christians" wanted her to show less skin. The bottom line, I think is both of them got tired of defending their relationship/marriage to the "Church" which probably overwhelmed him because Megan is going to continue to be who she was before the marriage and during the marriage "take it or leave it". Which after nine years of marriage, he chose to "leave it"! You cannot enter a relationship/marriage in hopes of the other person changing. Megan has a successful career as an actress so her job/career was/is not going to change. Just as his career/calling as a pastor wasn't going to change. THE WAIT- can be tackled in several different ways. I think that BOTH of them were trying to WAIT the other person OUT, in hopes of them conforming to the other's expectations of what a marriage should look like. Now they both can heal without being weighed down mentally because of the Church folk opinions! IT is so ironic that he chose to file for divorce during the airing of the show HARLEM!! THE CHURCH MOTHERS ARE DEFINITELY IN HIS EAR CONCERNING HIS MARRIAGE AND PROJECTING ON HIM WHAT A WIFE LOOKS LIKE. PRAYERS TO BOTH OF THEM ON THEIR QUEST TO FINDING LOVE AGAIN!❤🙏🏽

I have always thought that they were mismatched.. but sometimes love is just that.. mismatched. It doesn’t mean the love isn’t real, it’s just not a forever love. Somethings are seasonal they are for a time and a purpose. I hope each of them had the purpose to grow and who knows if it was truly a heart and soul connection.. they will come back together after each has reached the area of life where what concerns them and what concerns their faith becomes the same thing. Two cannot walk together unless they agree. There is no way that he could have kept defending the way she looked dressed and acted and she could not change the call on his life to represent Christ in a world that is fastly forgetting Him. God bless each of them. They will never forget one another so let’s see what happens y’all🙌🏽

I think Meaghan not being comfortable with herself is more of the possible issues for her. It seems as if she has her own insecurities and allowed others to play upon them. It’s really unfortunate because they both seem to be outstanding human beings with nothing but respect for one another .But this divorce also is going to do some damage to people who looked up to their example of a marriage ,especially a godly one .With that being said we all make mistakes and I feel they should be extended the same grace that we all have .I hope they learn from this period in their lives and make better decisions for themselves in the future .

I am sorry to hear this. I do feel culture and media did take its toll on their marriage. I do believe they were unequally yoked. Although Meagan is a believer, her transformation never crossed over into the career life. I believe she made the choice to continue her persona despite her husband’s position in the church world. I innerstand that Devon was trying to stand up for his wife in the heat of the moment however he’s response was emotional and not biblical. If you’re going to go to a church conference and speak to women about a book that encourages celibacy then you would need to innerstand your audience. I wish people quit saying "don't judge" or "church folk are so judgmental." What people don't understand is the Word of God(Bible) is very clear on how a Christian should lead their life. It's not always easy but you should prayerfully and openly keep striving for better. You cannot serve God and Mammon. You cannot have the spirit of Jezebel and fully serve God with your whole heart because that spirit will always entice you to do things you shouldn't do. You should work on full deliverance from whatever bad spirits within yourself are blocking you from serving the Lord completely and fully. Meagan may recognize Christ as her Savior, but she also needs to learn how to separate the carnal and the spiritual. I am very sad for them, I really am. Not everyone is cut out to be a pastor's wife though. You can be an actress, yet keep it clean. There are actors out there who put in their contracts that they don't want any love scenes of any kind. I rather she just be honest with Devon and herself.
