Could you run the exhaust on the first regulator into the no boost injector than a second regulator after those back to tank? Or is tuning the EFI easier? Dont know much about EFI
@fabianvaldez61017 ай бұрын
To avoid from changing anything in the fueling between injectors, couldn't you just run another fuel regulator for the vacuum side of the inj's and have 2 main returns to tank, granted your going to have more fuel line but that's another option isn't it? So you can stay at the base PSI the inj's up top because you only see vacuum up there. Correct me if im wrong.
@stanlucas19329 ай бұрын
Just run a separate non rising regulator and return for the top side.
@MrDynoking9 ай бұрын
I have done quite a few of this setup In burnout cars we just setup the hat injection to run on a 2nd map in the software and tune that separately to the port injection. We have mane injection for fueling with hat injection and we use the port injection to even out the cylinders

Needs a split fuel pump and 2 separate regulators. Boost reference the lower set of injectors and leave the hat injectors constant psi.

Is a dual regulator setup so the top stays constant just to much weight? Or is modify the top injectors load % progressivley fairly easy and straightforward?
@patrickmansfield39679 ай бұрын
This was my question also.
@MartinBorn9 ай бұрын
You would need to have two pumps at this point as well, if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise the fuel will go the path of least resistance and flow across the 90psi regulator for the top injectors. Regulators are in the return line so you can't have two different pressures between one pump and two regulators.
@dropfactory9 ай бұрын
@MartinBorn I wasn't sure if you'd be able to run the second reg in line after the first reg. So the first reg feeds the lower injectors then off first regs return you run a second reg to keep constant px to the hat injectors then return excess to the tank. Would have to study it more but that was my initial thought. Running the regs in parallel wouldn't work like you mentioned. They'd need to be in series.
@MartinBorn9 ай бұрын
@@dropfactory running it of the return of the first regulator would not work but running it of the output could.
@johnnym13209 ай бұрын
I think possibly if you put the higher pressure reg first then plumb the return from the that reg to the top fuel rail with a low pressure reg at the end of the system back to tank. Other wise I'm thinking dual pumps and regs

Actual injector flow = rated flow x square root of (actual fuel pressure ÷ rated fuel pressure) So new injector flow is 873 minus some additional dead time from the added differential pressure
@TeViiNz9 ай бұрын
The injector will grow to roughly 1000pph. In my opinion best way to reduce pre blower injectors would be to have a 2d offset table to reduce the injectors x percentage based on x fuel pressure

You need someone to make a closed loop capable fuel pressure regulator that is electronically controlled via 5v, 12v or PWM thru the ECU to perfect this mathematically speaking. Practically speaking, I would not be surprised if you’re “excess fuel” so to speak that you’re anticipating from the lack of differential pressure in the hat isn’t consumed/evaporated/vaporized by the supercharger itself for means of cooling. Also, it’s fair to assume at some point during the pass the blower hat is sure to experience some amount of positive pressure due to aerodynamics. How much and at what MPH? I have no idea cause I’ve never logged a map sensor inside of a blower hat above the rotors but it’s fair to expect some value higher than the car sitting still. If it were mine and I was trying to be as techy as possible I’d probably begin by trying to model my fuel flow as closely to a true mechanical system as possible. I’m talking total fuel flow volume as well as biasing the top vs bottom injectors in the software as closely to the jet size difference top vs bottom found in a mechanical system. All that aside, I’m interested to see how you all decide to skin this cat and what kind of results you get.
@Shademax42739 ай бұрын
I could be mistaken but I thought fuelab sold regulators with electronic flow control.
@BBenDavis9 ай бұрын
@@Shademax4273I personally would have gone with a mechanical system similar to what the screw blower promods run with electronically controlled lean-outs. Blowers are hellaciously violent and can be hard on electronic devices like fuel injectors. I’m well aware people have done this successfully and it is without a doubt a more precise and controllable way to deliver fuel but billet hemi aren’t cheap to replace and Id be done for the year if something happened. I like what they’re doing and I’m sure it’ll work great once they’re finished but the longer time goes on, the more I find myself leaning towards simplicity and redundancy over intricacy and sophistication.

Im not real familiar with holley but id wager you should be able to compensate for the fuel pressure rise in the hat with some kind of custom table setup based of fuel pressure for those injectors. Cant wait to see how they deal with it.

Welp, most injector manufacturers lie about their flow rates… so the top injectors will flow at least 600 at idle. Not sure what injector pressure/flow looks like but interested to see the explanation.
