Drifter: Hey, Immaru. Immaru! I heard you ain't enjoyin’ the vanguard's hospitality.
Immaru: Stuck in this bush-league Tower with all these nice-nice Ghosts. What do you think?
Drifter: Sounds like someone's got a chip on their shell. I'd be bitter too if I got turned into a moth monster's leverage. Seems like a bum deal.
Immaru: I kept the Lucent Hive in line for years while she dried out in the Vanguard's vault.
Drifter: Feelin’ a little disrespected?
Immaru: Please. I had my orders. I made sure that wannabe Hive kept up her end of the bargain.
Drifter: Mmm. That you did.
Immaru: You all think you have the upper hand. But I know Savathûn has a plan, and I'm here to make sure it follows through.
Drifter: Mm-hmm.
Immaru: And I- wait. Why are you talking to me?
Drifter: No one else wants to! Can't imagine why.
Immaru: Hmph. You wouldn't understand. You Guardians all prance around with your Ghosts like they're your best friends. No dignity. No professionalism.
Drifter: Heheheh. You think so? Maybe someday I'll, uh… introduce you to mine.

Imagine Immaru seeing Drifter's abomination ghost wearing the "body parts" of other ghosts, mute and with a red eye. "Just then the king felt true fear for the first time..."

"Hey!" Immaru called out. The walls inside the Derelict creaked and groaned in response, shuttering as if the cobbled halls would suddenly rip apart. He was alone. Immaru wandered through the ship until he stumbled on shelves of containment glass that lined the walls. A jar held eyeballs that roiled slowly in a viscous liquid, their stare following Immaru. There were hundreds of odd samples and organisms. Some could have still been alive, but he wasn't willing to find out. Up ahead, he heard an impossibly low utterance. The infrasonic vibrations melded into a droning moan and swelled into something indescribable. The sound traveled toward him, closer and closer. And then… it stopped. Everything stopped. Immaru turned, face-to-face with the blood-red eye of another Ghost. "Get back!" Immaru shrieked. The red-eyed Ghost complied. Its eye seemed to bug outward from the grotesque and malformed patchwork shell that twisted and hunched to one side. The Ghost hung lopsided in the air, as if it was dragging the weight of the world. "Is… is Drifter here?" The Ghost's iris rapidly flickered from red to blue in a hypnotic pattern. "Guess I'll take that as a no. You, uh, got a name there, pal?" The other Ghost's eye immediately went solid red, its gaze still steady on Immaru. "Right. Uh, Drifter-Drifter has some goods on the Headless Ones. Mind if I borrow them? Anything you got." The other Ghost floated over to a container marked "Cabal brains" and stroked the lid lovingly with its shell. "No!" Immaru yelped. "No, uh, I don't need those brains… no, don't need those either. No, no-you can keep the eyes too." The silent Ghost bobbed around Immaru and slid its flap down his shell. It pulled him close, until it grazed Immaru's iris. Love seeing the two most wise cracking jokers of the Sol system go at it. It’s funny. But, if anyone is able to instill real fear into Immaru and his boss, it’d be Drfiter after all. He’s been through hell, only someone that broken and dangerous when cornered would know how to turn the tables on Savvy and her pet.

There was a part of me that wanted more about Immaru since the Witch Queen campaign/seasons didn’t explain jack about him. But of his voice lines this season and in the loretabs paint him as green as a new light with grave dirt in their hair. He doesn’t have a clue what the world was like during the Dark Age, and he talks about Guardians like we’re all Vanguard boyscouts running around blowing stuff up for a thanks from Zavala.

Which is really odd, right? Because all the ghosts were created at the same time, no? Shouldn't most/all ghosts have experienced the tumultuous chaos of the dark age, and the savage nature of warlords and whatnot?
