I still think that this film has one of the best plant/ pay-off scenarios in potentially all of horror- whereas we get some creepy information through dialogue quite early on (plant) and then we go through the entire film before finally getting the (pay-off) to that dialogue... a visual that turns out to be the FINAL FRAME of the film!

When I picture Mike saying "Oh sh*t it's a house!" I get chills in my blood to this very day at age 40. I remember being so utterly terrified for them having to go inside that extremely horrifying run down house in the middle of nowhere.

searching around the net today since I heard about additional footage of this film today and came across this video. The version talked about in this video sounds like The Blair Witch Project Fan Extended Cut, because it is exactly the same time length mentioned in this video. Really easy to find on the net.

In a q&a they said the first time they saw the house was when they shot the scenes. They were told to go upstairs then down then shoved in the corner. Nothing was rehearsed.

For a few weeks, they had a website up before the movie came out. No one could confirm it was NOT real footage. Everyone in my theatre was super freaked out because they marketed things so brilliantly at the dawn of viral marketing.

This is awesome I've heard of this version for YEARS. I know maybe 1 or 2 of these where included in only the FX edit of the movie but that's it it's shown up nowhere else. I would love to hear that extra bit of dialogue from Heather's speech

the person you guys watched the edit of probably isn't a proper editor but rather found all the deleted scenes and just popped em in and exported the file. the FX logo is so easy to take out. and it's actually really easy to cut the crybaby bridge scene to completely exclude the extra people and any out of character moments.

22:30 i kind of disagree. i do think that it paints josh in a villainous light, but i don't think that was the intention of anyone but the actor josh. you can really tell that the other actors were not in character or acting when they were like "josh what are you even doing right now" lol i've kept that scene in my fan edit to add merit to the theory that josh and mike planned to kill heather

I'd probably watch your idea for a sequel for the Blair Witch but it would be so easy to get bad. I personally like the theory that Mike and Josh planned to kill her, given the idea by Mike's girlfriend who is vocal about not liking her. It would be interesting if just Mike and Josh came back and the whole thing is like "where's heather?" ~ Maybe they didn't kill her right away either, so it could be cut with new footage from Heather in captivity or something. And it could still be related to the Blair Witch by people thinking maybe Mike and Josh were possessed by the witch like Rustin Parr ~

I dont absolutely hate part 2, so I would make it that they found the new footage in a safe at Jeff from part 2's home. They could say that he found the tape in the woods but he was afraid to go back out there alone to look for more tapes. That would explain why he organized the over night tour.

i actually love the mike and josh poetry scene but in my edit i literally just include two lines of mike's and one line of josh's and then heather making fun of them. it shows that they're close and heather is kind of an outsider in the situation. but the full poetry scene makes it feel like mike and josh are falling in love with each other hard. but i think the cringey accent he uses while reciting makes it way too hard to watch if you know anyone with the accent he's offensively trying to emulate lol

There was a scene when everybody runs out of the tent the 1st time and heather Yell WHAT THE F. IS THAT , WHAT THE F IS THAT. She was supposed to point the camera at what she sees and this was a humanoid figure in a white dress between the tress. The directors didnt reshoot it cuz they wanted it to leave it ambiguos. But that scene would kind of say there was a witch/entity hunting them.

I had no idea this existed. I watched Blair Witch in the cinema. I knew going in it wasn't real but the build up to the movie, looking back now was something else. The fake documentary, the book, even comic books, the invented lore was incredible and believable, even knowing it was fake I was on the edge of my seat for the last 20 mins. I went with a friend that refused to walk through the woods on the way home, that still makes me laugh.

i don't understand why they shot the crybaby bridge scene or why it was done the way they did it with the directors in the shot and talking at some points. and everyone was out of character pretty much the whole time. they were even talking about the shooting schedule of the film which didn't match up with the days in the movie ~ and there's a part when the actors Heather and Mike really get mad at each other IRL. it doesn't further the plot at all and it's kind of disgusting to be like "we heard the kkk hanged a Black baby here so we're gonna go see if we can hear it cry". i can understand if it were an
