When you said "sit back" and then you did this little dance, honestly it made so much sense. Even when dancing you don't lean forward. You have so much more balance amd mobility at the hips like that - resulting in better slipping and more power. Thank you once again 🙏
@gd14654 жыл бұрын
Funny you say that, I have often thought that if boxing was masculine its feminine counterpart would be dancing, and I begin to believe that balance is necessary to understand anything truly. I wanting to start dancing for this reason but not really finding many instructional here on KZbin. But to confirm my theory, the need to dance with a partner and solo, Lomenchenkos father forced him to dance at one point, telling him it was essential to boxing. If anyone has exceptional footwork, angles and strategy in boxing, its Lomo (even though I seen he just lost recently). Marvin, if you happen to see this, I was curious if you knew any fighters to recommend studying. Your style is very unique, and I think seeing things applied against you're more typical fighter would give alot of clicks and "aha " moments. I know you've mentioned savate in general in one of your video. Thanks, take care gents.

This guy is teaching the fundamentals for boxing he's teaching balance which is a big part of boxing he's teaching foot work which is a major disadvantage of practicing muai thai. I say focus on footwork for muai Thai because the knees and elbows and clinches and kicks combined with angles is dangerous
@Fuice14 жыл бұрын
@@ahmadnassar3366 The biggest dangers when adapting boxing is the heavy head movements, leaning and ducking makes you vulnerable for knees. Also cutting angles and having bodyweight on front leg. Apart from that there are huge benefits with implementing basic boxing to muay thai. Theres a lot of top muay thai fighters that has basic footwork and striking from boxing. Also balance is major key in mastering muay thai. Boxing has great balance when striking which is used same way in muay thai

Closing your eyes is a good trick to find balance but I don't think thats why fighters lean forward. It's putting the bait out there so you can counter hit. It also allows you to do a full weave back without having to step back. Leaning forward works great for guys with fast movement and hands, many champions do it. If you're not that fast I recommend you don't do it.

Switching into this stance means your legs will be vulnerable to kicks. Switch in to throw jabs and cut a corner then step back into Thai stance. Shane Fazen did something similar in his first pro Muay Thai fight to disrupt attacks with a sharp jab!
@seanthegreat211ttvbtw44 жыл бұрын
Why are toes pointed so inward. If I were to change stances and circle to the right you would be off balance. The guy even cought you off balance and you had to adjust him for doing a something every fighter is taught. Which is to step with your jab because closes distance for other options. But what do I know I'm some random 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️

@@333mike2 once you get your stance down the next thing you'd wanna do is yeah practice with a friend but not spar freely, a good drill for footwork and stance is to have a friend and just move around together, in and out left and right and circular motions without punching and just focus on your feet. Then just make it light jab sparring when your comfortable, this drill will help you with stance n footwork, it will help you find your range quicker too when you add the jab. And just slowly build up from there to straight punches only that will test your guard abit but that's alright you need to get used to holding shape when getting hit and not breaking stance, make certain rounds straights or curved punches only, jab only, lead hand only, just so you get a feel of how to defend certain punches without being thrown right into sparring without it. But if your a month in master the basics, work on your footwork, rotation on your punches, work on your jab and different types, and most of all stay consistent.
