Also, back in the day, bathrooms were called ‘ bathory rooms’. Throughout the years, English has changed and shortened terms, so it became ‘ bath rooms’. They were named after Elizabeth bathory because of her “ bathing “ in the blood of her victims. 😊 I thought that was super interesting and watching this reminded me of it.

The 20 years is the part that gets me. That number of victims, even if they were peasants, seems like it would raise a big stir.

It comes out to 32 and 1/2 victims per year or roughly one every 10 days or so so I mean it depends on how far they were going out to get these and how big the area was and how many children The peasants had. Typically peasants do you have a high number of children the lower class also wouldn't have been as concerned about girls because girls cost money and don't earn money if she had taken boys even from the peasants in the lower class things would have happened so much sooner because boys had value and girls have negative value back then

Ok so in about 20 years here shed have taken on average one every 11 days or so, woow! Some historians actually have suggested that Elizabeth Bathory was, in fact, framed for these crimes, simply because she was a woman of extraordinary power whose lands other nobles wanted for themselves. I believe there isn't really any proof of her having a diary or being caught red handed past those nobles saying "dude trust me". The king himself allegedly disliked her. So interestingly enough, some Hungarian historians believe she was actually framed. The king of Hungary supposedly owed a huge debt to her husband and didn't want to pay it, so when girls in the area started going missing it's surmised that he found a way to pin it on her, and that a lot of witness testimony was probably given u set duress. The 650 number came from one of these witnesses claiming she kept a record in a secret diary of all the victims' names but the diary was never found. This case is so interesting because there's really no way of knowing how much is true or how much (if any) was fabricated. Anyway you're beautiful as always and I loved this video! 💗

I am really interested in this case and the frame-job theory. Another interesting factoid is that no mention of bathing in or drinking blood was ever made in the original trial. That was only added to the story about a hundred years after the fact. The legend of the Blood Countess is questionable, at best.
