I'm REALLY late on this one, but: avenging your family members was a pretty core piece of Viking culture. That's because most rulers in non-democratic societies, regardless of sex, only become rulers by being raging psychopaths, or by being born into a family of psychopathic rulers (it is a largely genetic neurological condition). Bad-ass isn't the word I'd use for mass-murdering sadists but I understand that people don't see atrocities the same way when they're so far in the past, compared to how they're seen within the last 200 years. What's really hard to understand is that the Eastern Orthodox Church ever called Olga a saint, and still does. They actually want converts and widows to pray to her for help in dealing with their problems, lol.

I remember seeing that in that game Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, the Viking units carried a boat and then threw it. I suppose then men Olga had carry the boat were pretty strong as well. It was actually unknown who were Olga’s parents, plus the most well known version of how they met. According to the general belief she was a daughter of some boat owner who asked for money in exchange to pass people to the other side of the river. That’s how she and Igor met, she was the one rowing the boat instead of her father, as he was pleasantly surprise it was told that as soon as they made to the other side he asked for her hand in marriage, but she rejected him. I don’t remember what he did to convince her afterwards, but as far as I know there was no blackmailing (if somebody thinks that way)

I'm seeing a pattern of Ryan constantly taking jellybeans from the Professor's satchel and it's got me thinking... what if he's doing that on purpose? Because the jellybeans could be the source of The Professor's power, Ryan keeps taking more from his satchel so he loses power which will make him vulnerable at the season finale and, like dear Olga, Ryan will finally have his revenge. Note: I know this is quite late. But I watched the season finale about a day after it was uploaded and, hahaha, I guess my far out theory was accurate.

Vikings didn't actually have horns on their helmets. That myth is thanks to a costume designer who in the 1800s Worked for an opera house and gave the raiders in one of the operas horned helmets. Thanks to things like cartoons, tv, movies, comics and such, the stereotype was popularized. it's the same with the misconception of vikings being just war hungry invading brutes. I'm a history nerd 😖 that's why I LOVE this serious so much. Olga was such a hardcore homicidal badass, and I love it.
@saintcynicism26543 жыл бұрын
I think I remember it having had something to do with a painter taking creative liberties and giving them horned helmets for symbolic purposes, too. Fun fact I’ve realized about the song: even the the word “poop” or a variation of it appears 7 times, the song’s lyrics very much follows the “Rules of Three” in comedy. If you’re someone who laughed at it, you most likely laughed at the first three “poop” lines or the second ones like I did. I think it fits the rules well because after the first line, you’re kinda like “no, is Shane really making a poop joke” but by the 3rd or 6th line, you produce at least a chuckle because you find a sort of silly appreciation that he actually stuck with the joke 😂😂😂
