I’m really looking forward to knitting the seed head bag - both for myself and for gift knitting. And I love those little glimpses into life on your property at the end of each ep. The chicken herding did make me chuckle. Keep putting eps out, Anna. I love hearing about your process and enjoy your beautiful end products.

Great seeing you again Anna! Just a note on "bleeding" - I have never washed woolens in hot (or warm) water. Vinegar definitely works but use cool water; it'll be best for the buttons as well. Good luck! 😉
@colettebouvier92012 жыл бұрын
P.S. one dyed once told me they use hot water to dye the yarn so, if you use warm to hot water to wash the yarn, it will bleed without fail!
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
Kim suggested I re-set the yarn (as if dyeing it), and I’m not sure how that is done exactly. Lots of acid, and I think you slowly heat it up, then cool it back down… I haven’t looked into it much because of my buttons! I might try lots more vinegar in cool water, like you said. Thanks for watching, Colette!

Hah loved the chicken herding. I see why you have four kids! Your bag design is very nice. I did one a few years ago and felted it the boho bag I think. The straps are a bit stretchy but I've decided not to worry about it when I use it.

When you said the word "bag", my heart skipped a beat. With all the stores changing what they charge and even if they will supply a store plastic bag, I've become eager to knit shopping totes. Have a look on Ravelry at Annie Baker's Sacchetto. Just finished it. I love your tote and I think it will make a lovely project bag.

So glad to see you! Just watched your yoga on Insta. I’m going to get back to it! Love your knits,colors and plans! Love the Classic Sweater! What if you tacked a bit of t-shirt knit fabric on the inside of the neck and collar where it touches that sensitive area?
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
Yay Julie! Let me know if your try any of my yoga tips 😄. That’s a great idea about the collar! That just gave me a lightbulb moment - I could fold it in but knit the folded part out of superwash!

Not sure if anyone has commented on yarn bleeding, but there's a product by Shout - they are color catchers. If you go on Amazon, its easy to find. I have not used them yet, but heard from a few podcasters they swear by them.

A very lovely podcast! Thank you for taking time to share your knitting life. The Scrappy Cardigan is working up beautifully. Do you carry a "main" color throughout, or change both yarns as needed? I am looking forward to the pattern for this beauty. 🦋
@thebluebirdbox2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the encouragement! I’m carrying two strands, then swap out the first strand with a new colour, then the second strand for yet another new colour. It’s making for smooth transitions and I’m loving the effect.
