Seeing that young boys face .....gives me the full justification of why many black americans had a deep hate for whites and the fact they could do anything knowing the law enforcement is full racist, judges full of racist, city/town where they lived full of racist. I hope in Gods name that racist lady and her male comapanions family and grandchilderen never find peace in their life and full of blessed missery for eternity in the name of beloved Emitt Till.

regardless of the ''legal'' outcome, and despite the absolute heartless evil behind all of this, these people have one thing they can never get away from: their conscience, which haunts them every day and will continue to do through the end of time..all ''justifications'' people like ths come up with are merely excuses to keep their conscience at bay..but at the end of the day, when the excuses - and time - run out, you've only got one thing left: the truth; and if you believe in the afterlife, there are no more excuses, no more laws and statutes to hide behind..all that's left is the human conscience - from which there's NO escape..i wanna believe that's the true definition of hell: the human conscience, from which there is no reprieve or technicality to invoke.......

@@godofnothing428 If whites are going to pay for the "crimes of their ancestors" and that's how it works then just look at it as blacks paying for their ancestor's crimes in spades. Africans had long enslaved Europeans before the reverse happened. Or do we try to sweep the Carthaginians under the rug and only bring them out to make africans feel good about Hannibal when it conveniences them most? The Berbers, Moors, Barbary States, Egyptians, Nubians, Libyans, Moroccans, the list goes on for African people's that had long enslaved whites, raped their women, killed their children. The Reconquista was the first step to change that old status quo since the fall of the Roman Empire. Do we pay for the crimes of others or do we take account for ourselves an our actions? If you dont want to hold to the principles of the latter you are a weak fool.

I can hardly fathom the pain and anguish that Mamie Till endured in the wake of her son's murder. Witnessing her child so horribly disfigured by the violence inflicted upon Emmett is beyond comprehension. If one's eyes are truly windows to the soul, you can discern Emmett's genuine and sweet nature through his smile and the light his eyes radiated. The fact that the murderers were acquitted only serves to stoke my anger further.

Absolutely unfathomable. We will never know the depth of pain he endured physically, nor his mother emotionally 💔 sadly, the inexplicable hatred still exists. Senseless and mind boggling.

It wasn’t just what the ‘people’ did. They had the actual culprits and just let them go because they were white. The open casket was to show the WORLD what was done to her child. Especially knowing that the professed murderers would be let go as usual. It was purposely done to she light as best as possible to the common horrors our people had to go through over simple words. This was a boy, not even a man. I agree with you. Just don’t think that emphasis was on the people. She was opening eyes to common lives.

Good evening Meka. I agree having the open casket Mamie said "Let the people see what they did to my boy" It put a face on the horrors of Jim Crow. _______________________________ You said; He looked just like his mama and to see his father holding his mother while looking at his mutilated body is saddening and heartbreaking" There are so many little details about this story. Emmett's father, Louis Till, died in Europe while in the Army in 1945. The man in that picture was Genie (Gene) Mobley, Mamie's 4th husband.

I so desperately wanted to see her before her funeral. But I couldn't. I just could not bring myself to have enough courage to see her like that. What I had already seen was bad enough just with machines and tubes and such. Even with no trauma to her body, I still could not go with my daughter to view her. How this mother did what she did, I'll never understand. Brave doesn't seem good enough a word to describe this woman.

She stated she wanted the people to see what they had done to their President. JFK'S casket was left closed. Even after specialists reconstructed Kennedy's head and face... Jackie was horrified by the results. Said he looked like a wax museum statue, too waxy looking. Not like a real person. She INSISTED and won that battle. Both women were stronger than me. By all accounts, from anyone I would consider at all trustworthy, Emmett was an intelligent, kind, well mannered, respectful and respectable boy with a bright future ahead of him. Who knows what he could have done with his life. That speaks a lot about his mother as well as Emmett himself. We will be honoring them both in this house when we talk to and teach our grandchildren about what this family went through and what means. That's not enough though. I hope that she is honored in some meaningful way so that people, like my husband, who didn't know about this tragic murder of this boy and the suffering of his mother, might come to know their story and hopefully use it to do some good for the world.

To think of my only son , and to only imagine the scared , crying , and pain this child went through as a mother it would stay with me forever, to see the child you gave birth to in that way would not only hurt your heart it would scar you to the core , the way his mother stood for her son and the way she made it known that she would not sit in silence will always be a true testament to a mothers undying love ❤️ for their child always , The world is still feeling her pain even to this day and Iam sure it will forever be a picture etched In many hearts always , REST IN PEACE , KNOWING YOUR NAME STILL IS SPOKEN TO THIS DAY AND THE FIGHT FOR ALL WILL NEVER STOP.

Terrible how a young handsome boy with his whole life ahead of him was murdered for no reason. TAKEN FROM HIS OWN HOUSE. A PLACE WHERE HE THOUGHT WAS SAFE.

Lord Tyrranus. And this is exactly why we need to keep fighting. People like you don’t care, but as soon as your privileges get taken away you want everyone to take a fucking stand with you.
