ISAIAH 2 - EXODUS “Their land is also full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.” (Isaiah 2:8) Words By: Father "Exodus means a mass departure. But a departure of what? For the Israelites it was a departure from Egypt to the promised land. But is it really a departure if the soul carries the Egypt heart? You can remove the people out of Egypt but it’s different moving Egypt out of the heart of man which is why the Israelites encountered the many troubles. The golden calf was just a fruit of their idolatry and an expression of their idol worship. The Church still carries this same attitude. It is the heart of idolatry by serving two masters - Me and the gods that please themselves. Cares of the world, deceitfulness of riches and lust of other things has become the modern day golden image and indeed many have given their hearts over to these idols and end up doing what Aaron did. Now it wasn’t that Aaron didn’t love Me, however complacency was in his heart and he ended up doing what all complacent people do - denying Me for the temporary. I have called you out of the world and into My kingdom; but not to bring the world into My kingdom. I am not saying that you cannot desire things. But if the desire owns your heart and you cannot seem to live without it because you feel compelled to have it, then you must consider what it is that you are worshipping. These are desires you must let go of if you want to reach the promise land. You should never look back and think, “The world is also full of silver and gold and there is no end to their treasures.” If I have shown you the path, given you the miracles and offered you a kingdom, then what in Egypt could you possibly want? Cast your cares at My feet, remain faithful to My voice and I will be faithful to meet your every need."

I'm non-religious, but I want to understand the stories in the bible so I can understand culture and literature better. This is a great resource because everything is presented straight forward. God loves justice. The firstborns of Egypt were killed because in the hierarchy of the society at the time, the firstborn would be the next pharaoh. God killed the firstborns to put the evil pharaoh of the time, who mind you was VERY evil- he was abusing the slaves, in his place. Moses said His words were from God and the pharaoh was basically like “nah... ima just work ‘em harder”. Nowadays society thinks it’s ok for people to kill babies because it’s inconvenient for the mother however when its a situation like this, when God knew what He was doing for the Israelites who were enslaved, when God is love but also is JUST, when God is the ruler and does something that is loving, harsh but just and makes total sense... everyone freaks out! God gave those babies their lives... He can easily take their lives away because He DID in fact create them. However He did not kill the babies just to kill babies; He killed them with justice because we serve a God of justice. God had mercy on Egypt: He sent plague after plague upon them to warn them, and then sent Moses to warn them. But they didn’t listen! Again, as I have said: God is loving but He is also JUST. We can’t just have a God of love love love and mercy mercy mercy and not of judgement. Who wants a judge in court of only “love & mercy” ? This society has lost its mind. Justice needs to be served.
@tokkiiiiiiiiiiiiii4 жыл бұрын
Sophie M people out there be thinking that they are more just and merciful than God plsssssss lol Let’s see their sense of justice when someone they love gets killed. I would like to see if they would be able to forgive the killer just because he regretted. I DOUBT IT. However, God does forgive only if we sincerely regret, it doesn’t matter whatever we’ve done just because He loves us. Who’s more just here ? I also doubt they would die for people who curse them.

With all my surgeries, anesthesia messed with my brain and it's so hard to make things stick sometimes! I'm definitely more of a visual person- so seeing and hearing each story from the Bible before I pick it apart piece by piece helps more than you can know! So many people don't understand the Bible and just assume God is this evil judging guy that wants to happily send the world to Hell, and it's so sad. Thank you for taking the time to make all these videos- I am hoping to spread them on all my social medias with hope that people will watch them and be interested in clicking all of them- stirring their curiosity of God- and reading the Bible themselves and gaining that EXTREMELY important relationship with the one true God through his son, Jesus! I just went through those chapters and you brought out a whole new level of intensity I had not adequately registered. I also love that you tackled one of my biggest questions in all of this: why was pharaoh's heart hardened?
@gabrielmagalhaes9150 Жыл бұрын
His heart was hardened not literally hardened but it’s symbolic in that God strengthened Pharaoh’s heart in his convictions. So every time God says he hardened Pharaohs heart, he made his mind, body, and soul one with his convictions which in Pharaohs case showed how truly evil and wicked his heart was. Yeah hardened = strengthened. Very symbolic.

Pharaoh's heart was hardened because he would not repent, the plagues were a call to repentance as is anything which is contra natural en masse happening in our world. We see things like this very clearly in our own day yet do not recognize it as a culture repentance. Few have recognized such things historically (ie Sodom and Gomorrah) and I do pray for our poor souls in the current day that more may come to recognize God's call to repentance in our own time.

I freaking love you guys. Why am I just finding out about you guys? I started with your 2 videos on Genesis and now this story has already been so visual that your depiction of Pharoah is AMAZING. I’m an ExJW and I was pretty much banned from reading the entire Bible. (Not literally) but since we had an organization that controlled and manipulated the Bible I never had intentions to read it, cuz what’s the point right? I have people that do it for me. Since things have changed and prophecies have been manipulated I decided to go on my own journey of reading it for myself and so far I’ve cried and been sad because all of my life i have had certain mindsets of the Bible’s true stories and nature. But when reading it I drift a lot and forget what I read. I’m not capable of doing it alone. I need visuals. For months I’ve been struggling now coming across your videos I’m genuinely excited to understand the Bible now without feeling lost. Thank you so much I really do hope you have videos lineup all the to the end of Revelatation.

I was listening to the podcast on the Bible project app, and in Israel Tests God, Episode 5, Tim and Jon infer about how the Israelites were tested by seeing the manna and not being allowed to collect it on the 7th day. However, 16:25-27 it says they went out and couldn't find any. So they never saw it. My takeaway is that day 7 probably looked similar to day 6 - not obviously different - which means even when there was manna, it was still a bit of work to gather it. That's my lived experience. Sorry I couldn't find a better place to share this feedback. Thank you for the podcasts which help me do Bible study with my kids. They explain that it understandable that the Bible seems boring to read and hard to understand,... and makes it accessible for us. We love how you chew on it together and bring it to life with your verbal examples and visual illustrations. Thank you so much!!

Very apt description. I've taught my Sunday School classes that God, who just gave his name "I AM THAT I AM", is proving that HE IS and the Egyptian gods are not. He sets them up as so many bowling pins then knocks them down one by one, until finally He shows He is the giver (and taker) of life itself. God of the river, not so, I AM. God of the sun? Not so, I AM. You have a god who controls the insects, the animals the weather, etc.? That god is not. I AM! He gives Pharaoh and Egypt many chances to acknowledge He is God, yet they reject that truth.

Is there a reason why you don't use direct quotes from the bible? I feel like these stories and animations hold more weight when they tie in directly with God's word. Might I suggest more use of the actual scripture so there's no room for confusion or false interpretation? Thank you
@colin36745 жыл бұрын
Le Samurai Black because they are just introductory videos and to be frank the absence of scripture makes their videos a lot less intimidating to the non-believers watching who aren’t used to seeing bible verses everywhere. You have to do you own due diligence and study these subjects further for yourself.

@@colin3674, I totally agree with you. If some non-believers wander their way here and just find themselves bombarded with scriptures, they might find the Bible to be too menacing and overwhelming. This gives a great introduction that encourages them to find out more from the Bible.

Didn't Aaron do all the talking cause Moses claimed he had a speech impetiment? And what about the awesome scene Moses kills a guy? Like..Moses had a tough life before finding God.

Moses ended up talking. He should have trusted God to help him do what he told him to.

Indeed! And also that God basically “enrolls” Aaron and tells Moses to relate to Aaron as God relates to Moses. Basically he is training this orphan, killer, vagabond named Moses with speech impediment and low self esteem to become an awesome and reliable leader of a nation!

Some scholars say that the hardening of Pharaoh's heart is a slap in the face of Egyptians, because the Egyptians believed that a Pharaoh's heart would be qeighed against the feather of truth before entering the afterlife.
@sheluvssmokedupeyes16 жыл бұрын
traceursebas Some historians are wrong because before Moses goes to each of God tells them exactly what he’s going to do he says I will hardenAnd he did it to also show up they are gods he said I will make i’m mockery of their gods and you might not like this but he also says I will kill their children with death and that was for what the pharaoh had done to the Israelite children
@sheluvssmokedupeyes16 жыл бұрын
Mi Les then why does God say that he’s going to destroy their gods and kill their children with death God said I’m going to show each of that I am god because the Egyptians were already practicing magic before the Israelite showed up they were already practicing magic they were already involved with their gods so how is the God of Abraham a mockery of the gods of Egypt you need to look at it historically and biblically

YES! Finally! By far my favorite book of the bible. Actually getting a tattoo of Exodus 14:14. Love how they mention that it's the first to display very significant themes in scripture like salvation and faith. Very well done guys!

You make Pharaoh seem like a bad guy...he really isn't. The Pharaoh from the beginning is a different Pharaoh. The Pharaoh Moses deals with is the original Pharaoh's son, and Exodus pretty much says he's okay. For some reason God decides to harden his heart so that he doesn't let the Israelites go. Your explanation would work if it was the same guy. I guess God gets off on torturing innocent Egyptians?

+Dan Parker the point was that God used the pharaoh to show his power both to the Jews and Egyptians so that they believe in Him.

He is the descendant(son or grandson) of the pharaoh who killed most of the firstborn Israelites. However, he is just as bad as his father(or grandfather) and refused to let them go. Besides he made his choice to keep the Israelites there and he continued to grow in evil so when he the plagues continued he could not back.

Dan Parker There is no evidence of that in the text.

Dan Parker No one will admit it because they attach their Pharisitical edicts that they expect others to follow even though Jesus died so that we wouldn’t have to worry about following the law to a T to an idea of a perfect God, but God actually isn’t perfect. He admits to mistakes several times in the Bible, including when He selects Saul to be King. If you read the overall Bible, you get a sense of God learning to deal with us as time goes on the way a parent tries several different methods of punishment to reel in a wayward child. Ultimately, God settles on sheer forgiveness. Humans are imperfect. But as long as we acknowledge how ALL of us are so sinful that we ALL deserve to die, we harm each other less and at least know enough to be grateful to God. If you read, it’s the Saul’s of the world, who don’t actually do anything completely horrid but believe that they are better than others because their life is a comparatively better who God condemns. Meanwhile, adulterers, murderers and malfeasants like David are people after God’s own heart because they understand they need help and beg for forgiveness after they fail. See also the parable of the prodigal son vs the “good” son.

This is amazing! I Remembered again how these stories tied up while I was in private school learning about the bible.
