When I was 15yrs of age I found myself homeless and praying at a statue of the Good Sheperd in the middle of the night. I remember saying Jesus if you’re real show me, I’m rock bottom and need your help. About an hour later while sitting at a bus stop in the rain on an empty street an old lady out of nowhere pulled up and offered me help. She ended up living an hour away one street from where my mother lived who I had not been in contact with for a long time .The old woman drove me to my mother’s house to see if she would take me in. I knocked on the door, and all the lights came on. My mother was surprised to see me. She took me in and I remember laying in bed trying to figure out what had just happened. I would have been ignorant to think that it was merely a coincidence and was in no doubt that Jesus had sent an angel to help me. I’ve never forgotten that night and it’s the reason I believe in Jesus. Christ is King! Amen!

I've studied studied biblical history since I was a child. After being molested I couldn't find it possible to believe God was there and let it happen. One night in jail, I ran the story through my mind, and the point where Pontious Pilate told Jesus he would be let off the cross if he admitted he was a liar, and through all the pain, knowing he would die, said it was true.. Even if he wasn't immortal, he had nothing to gain but other people getting the message, seeing.. It broke me, it didn't have to make sense, I'm all in now. Life has been alot better. ❤

Lee Strobel’s book is really interesting because he initially approached this as a skeptic/atheist, not a believer. The more he dug, the more he interviewed, and the variety of ways he approached the subject of Christ, his life, death, and historical records, the more it became apparent it could not be a fabrication.

Fun fact the Romans were not against Jesus, they actually liked him and Pilate didn’t want to kill him. But it was the Jewish leaders that wanted him dead. I recommend everyone read the letter Pilate wrote to Cesar Tiberius. He states he was afraid of Jesus because he could feel the authority that he carried. Pilate saw Jesus preaching early on in his ministry and was fond of him because he said things like “Give to Cesar what is Cesar’s” and he also healed the Centurions child.

A detective in Australia became a believer when he read the 4 gospel accounts . He said the fact that their eyewitness statements slightly differ from each other proves they were telling the truth . He said he sees discrepancies when taking eyewitness statements. He said if all the disciples eye witness accounts exactly lined up to a tee , then he would've known they were lying and fabricating their statements On another note, it's been said the fact the gospels were written with brutal honesty adds further weight to its authenticity ie Doubting Thomas saying he will not believe unless he puts his hands in His wounds , the disciples always making mistakes , misunderstanding things , Simon Peter always putting his foot in it , then denying Jesus , the disciples not believing Jesus rose from the dead . John quoting Jesus enemies the religious leaders , calling Jesus demon possessed and a mad man , a liar , many of Jesus disciples turning back not following Him . The gospel writers said it as is , they didn't 'air brush ' things out to get the reader to read it with rose coloured glasses!

@@SecondPlaceMusic WTF? 40-60 years is not a huge gap? Everyone purportedly involved was dead and there were zero written accounts, only propaganda and fantastical stories designed to recruit people into the, at the time, tiny Messianic cult. If it wasn't for Emperor Constantine the Jesus cult would have died off long ago. It was the Jews living 900 mi away in Greece that were writing down a lot of the stories in Coptic Greek, plus the Flavian scholars completely making up their own narrative to promote Titus for Emperor of Rome, stealing from the mythical lies around Jesus to make him the prophet for the true Messiah-Titus Flavius. You should read about that. Also, why do you think there are statutes of limitation for capital crimes in most countries? People's visual memories distort even after a few days, and their memory of what happened and who said what is largely incorrect. There are a lot of people in prison who were convicted by eyewitness.testimony who were later found to be innocent. And you think 40 to 60 years later the words written down are verbatim of what a guy said through four different language translations of the stories?

I love your comment. And if it is the most important topic to investigate, then maybe some of the core teachings within the bible and other religious/spiritual texts from around the world have been true all along. What if the purpose of life is to survive, experience, and face all of the different challenges possible given the period of time that you are alive in, learn from and improve upon all of the mistakes and lessons learned from each of those challenges, and live your life the absolute best way that you can in preparation for what comes afterwards. How about, instead of living in fear of death, live looking forward to the end of this life, but spend your time preparing and bettering yourself so that when the inevitable does arrive, you'll embrace this end and the beginning of the next.

It is the fact of who Christ claimed to be that makes his resurrection so important. Without the resurrection we have no hope, Paul says. But Jesus claimed to be God himself, and the true son of the Father. He lived a perfect life, healed the sick, and raised the dead. In his passion and death he was willing and compliant, he offered no defense of himself or put up any fight. He carried his own cross. He even prayed forgiveness for those who crucified him. He was a perfect sacrifice, God’s love poured out for us. His resurrection is his true vindication, that he was who he said he was. If just anybody rose from the dead, I’d be pretty shocked. But if THAT guy rose from the dead… I’m taking up my cross and following him.

Luke was written not by Luke the disciple but by Luke the author of Acts who took down the accounts on the blessings and testimony of the apostles and Paul. Mark was written by Mark after the Church of Rome begged him and Peter to write down the teachings and story of Christs ministry after refuting Simon the Sorcerer and preaching in Rome. The Gospels were written anonymously between 70-150ad. Matthew copied Mark verbatim. So why would an eyewitness copy a non-eywitness? The author of John doesn't claim to be an eyewitness, as none of the Gospels do. He claims to be writing testimony from "the one who Jesus loved" but never says his name. The average life expectancy was 48, so virtually no eyewitnesses would have still been alive by the time Luke was written, let alone John. Etc etc

The Gospel of John is written by John the beloved disciple. He writes it about himself. He was the disciple who lay on Jesus chest at the last supper. He was the only apostle to not abandon the Lord during His passion and he stood at the foot of the cross. It was him that the Lord gave his mother to to take into his own home. Peter asked the Lord when John should be killed and He said it does not concern him but that it would be later and he would not be a martyr. And it was true, John the beloved died in Exile about the year 99 ad. While in Exile he wrote the book of revelation (or called the book of the apocalypse). Luke was the assistant of Paul and he wrote the gospel of Luke as well as acts. They are one book, but are split apart to keep it shorter. Matthew mentions he was an eyewitness and he saw Jesus taken away in the garden of Gethsemane

The earliest gospels were written 40 years after Christs ascension. We know this because they miss out essential events such as the destruction of the Jewish temple in 70AD, which means it hadn’t happened yet. Three of the main gospels were based on earlier documents known as ‘Q’ which were probably written just after his ascension. The earliest copy we have is a scrap of the gospel of Mark dating from the end of the 1st century. In terms of historical evidence this is mind blowing. We absolutely can trust the New Testament.

I'd say you can have a certain degree of confidence that the gospels were written relatively soon after Jesus's death and that the translations we have today are consistent with the earliest FULL copies written around 360 AD. What passes as trustworthy or reliable differs from person to person, but for me, I think it's highly plausible that today's translations could very well differ from the original writing. There is almost a 300 year gap between the time it was written and our earliest full copy. That's just questioning the reliability of the transmission, let alone questioning the original stories themselves.

It’s just the concept of faith itself is a struggle for me to grasp. Someone gave me an analogy a while back about this and said, “you have faith that when you get in your car that it will drive you to your destination” and basically tried comparing that to having faith in an omnipotent being that created everything and everyone and I’m just supposed to swallow that pill and move on??? Idk…this will be something I battle with forever. I constantly go back and forth thinking I “finally fully believe”…and then time passes and I lose all the faith and start over.

Did you compare all religions and denominations before you decided...or? Many people check different manufacturers, reviews, unboxings and compare prices before buying a TV. Funny how something like deciding which walk of life that determines weather you live in an eternity in heaven or hell is just based out of culture, convincing or convenience. I mean, this decision has huge ramifications based on if one can convince the rest of ones family, otherwise they will... wait. And this question to you will probably only be called a test from god by you or your peers. The strangest part of it all is that the test is not to actually to do any sort of testing, probing and careful selection, but to read more into the specific texts or talk to more peers that the current selected religion has to offer. @@SkeluzI wouldn’t say I’m tied to any religion or denomination, I simply have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I prayed, and it was answered very quick and precisely. Being 100% sober, I could feel him. I can’t describe it to you, but those that I once called crazy know what I’m talking about. I was then attacked shortly after, the devil showed himself to me, and never in my life have I been more disgusted with the things I saw. There are many false teachings that people cling to, and try to force upon others, and I feel many people get it wrong. Accepting Jesus as your savior, repenting when you know you’ve sinned, and be genuine about it. Sin is eternal, but it is our duty for those that know the path to then walk it as best as we can. God judges firmly but fairly. You will be measured by the weight of your heart. I can’t tell you who will go to heaven or hell, and I can try to open the door for people, but it is ultimately their choice. I mean, even if so, how does living an eternity with a man whose love for you will never be fully understood sound so bad to anyone?

I’m so blessed to be saved by the Lord. Joe needs to watch Randy Kay’s testimony videos. I got saved by watching the NDE testimonies on his channel. The famous “Amazing Grace” song sums up being saved. You don’t realize how blind you were until you surrender all of your pride and realize how much Jesus loves you. In that moment you’ll want to ask the Lord to truly forgive you because of His massive love for us by willingly shedding His blood on the cross for us and defeating hell by resurrecting on the 3rd day. You’ll be filled with the Holy Spirit and feel so light afterwards. I remember seeing everything so differently and literally felt like I was born again just like Jesus mentions in John 3. It felt like getting out of the matrix is the best way I can describe it 😂. This world is so massively influenced by Satan it’s unreal.

Actually yes, it has been proven that most of the stories in the Old Testament were plagiarized from other civilizations, or written many years after some Jewish history occurred. Then, most of the New Testament was written 70-90 years after the purported events in Greece, with some books written by the Flavian scholars many years after the events, and there are no other historical texts that support the claims. NONE. All the documents supporting the claims have been debunked as fictional works or outright fraud, such as that ridiculous "Acta Pilate" nonsense.

One issue if you read Pilots letter to Caesar on Jesus he states the opposite. That Rome has nothing to fear from him he preaches against the corruption of his own people not against Rome. It was a forged letter, even the vatican said so. They gain nothing by denying evidence for Jesus' existence. It was a London newspaper, written by bias Christians, that claimed it was true despite the Vatican already refuting it. It was found in Liverpool, over a thousand years aftee Jesus, in absurdly good condition. Just like the many of fake Pilate's letters. Churches/Priests/Pastors were known to fake them so they had "proof" of the first good friday, or easter sunday. Then all the 🐑 would go to that church and pay tithe because of the fake documents.
