Great video Jerry! You this video out fast! I was so tired after this first day 😂 i just passed out .. snoring so hard. After getting up and driving 6 hours and putting in 9 miles i was roasted. Those umbrellas though were a great investment for this trip.

Yep. The Boundary Trail is a rough one to tackle in 4 days. Especially in the Texas heat. The umbrella was a must and will come in handy for monsoon season in Colorado.

Very beautiful beginning. Hot but so beautiful. The packet gourmet meal sounds awesome too bad I'm celiac. I'd probably like it a lot. Great campsite and shots. ❤

Thank you for another great video. Yep an umbrella is definitely worth having especially in the heat. My first one was a cheap Equinox knockoff, but a few years ago I got the Chrome dome f Six Moon Designs. That and the Gatewood Cape is a great shelter, rain gear combination. Nice new tent. Summer in Texas... it is not hell, but you can see it and the fence between them blow down. I can't wait for your next video. Thank you again for taking us along.

Ah the Texas heat. Yes. This will probably be the last multi day trip in Texas for me this summer. I really like the new tent. It's roomier than I had expected. The umbrella was definitely a good gear addition. I picked it up for the exposed sections above tree line and monsoon season when I'm in Colorado later this year. Thank you for watching and the support.

Nice first day Tangent Trails! Finding $6.00 us a good omen. Beautiful campsite and it comes with a picnic table. Eighty eight is a little hot for my taste.

We’ll be reaching 100° here next week. This was possibly the last backpacking trip in north Texas this season. Time to head to the mountains. Thanks for watching, Bryan.

I’m afraid it’s gonna be another sweltering Texas summer. Hopefully that won’t be the case. The umbrella worked great. Testing new gear for future Colorado adventures I’ve planned.

Jerry- Your channel is among my favorites and I see we both share a love for LBJ Grasslands. My last trip was in April and I had to cut the trip short due to flooded trail conditions. I wanted to ask if you continue hiking this area around hunting season(s). Are there any months you avoid the Grasslands? This will help me for my planning.
@tangenttrails
@tangenttrails Жыл бұрын
I’ll usually backpack the area before and right after hunting season but I did go during season last year. When I do I’ll wear something with hunter orange. I made the mistake of going during spring break last year. Too crowded and I won’t make that mistake again. I also avoid weekends and most summer months. Too hot. To stay informed of prescribed burn that may be planned I’ll follow the US Forest Service - National Forests and Grasslands in Texas page on social media. I’ll post the link below. I hope this helps. @@tangenttrails I greatly appreciate the response Jerry! Many years ago I was camped at Piney Woods in winter and some hunters passed through my camp with rifles as I was exiting my tent in the morning. They were really friendly but I had a sense that it might not be a good idea for me to be out there at that time even if wearing blaze orange. Thanks for confirming. I'm looking forward to your next videos solo and with Eli. Stay safe out there my friend. Oh, one more thing..I also purchased one of those trekking umbrellas from Gossamer Gear during the sales and I'm looking forward to using it. I enjoyed seeing you and Eli putting it to use and it looks like it will help immensely since most of the Grasslands doesn't have tree cover.

@@rb9194sads You are welcome, Ross. I’ve never really felt worried regarding hunters. I mainly avoid going during season because I don’t want to get in their way or scare away the game.
