They never said it didn’t. They said it’s always the least traditional ones. Also, just adding on, you can be untraditional and have a traditional dynamic (ex. Both be tattooed, socially progressive, non-religious, have previous sexual partners, not think traditional roles are necessary/inherent/there’s no such thing as “woman’s work”, etc). It’s just about what duties you fill at home which can be dictated by personal preference, convenience, or necessity.

Heres the FUNNY part, when they have a kid or two the guy will say he will work she can stay home with the kids because unless your making good money the daycare costs about as much as a minimum wage job, cheaper for her to stay home (or him) after he asks her to stay home for the next 10-15 years and they end up in a divorce, he will actually get mad that she gets some of his income when HE stopped HER from working, she lost her job her career and her job experience, while his net worth and pay only grew over the years, and he really thinks she should start again from scratch when shes now in her 40s, she sacrificed all that when he asked her to be the one to stay and raise the kids. Of course you have to pay her, and that works both ways because my mother in law had to pay out her ex husband pretty fucking big because she made so much more than him and he hadnt worked in over 10 years since he stayed with the kids. it wouldnt be fair for him also to be left jobless after sacrificing his career, her net worth only grew

The "thirty minute commute" is such an overlooked part of this. First off that's an hour round-trip for her, two hours if she does it twice a day. The OTHER thing is, that's far enough away that it means he can't take the bus. "Well not everyone can take the bus," I hear you say, but here's the thing: he's working at a best buy. There are other jobs in roughly the same skill level paying roughly the same anywhere; he could get a job closer to home, take the bus and save up to get his car fixed. But he won't.

The problem isn't relationships where one partners works outside the home and the other works at home. The problem is when lazy men (usually) say they want a "traditional relationship" but they actually want a live in maid mommy girlfriend who also brings in income.
@nikobitan7294
@nikobitan7294 2 ай бұрын
Trad relationships are a bad idea because it ruins your career prospects to stay at home all your life, and you are also completely reliant on the other person for money and housing. This is also how so much domestic violence starts, because it gives all control to the man. Women have been forced into trad relationships *because* these relationships suck for their independence and survival, which is why women's ability to have jobs and careers (and have the ability to leave a problematic man at the drop of a hat) is such a thorn in so many men's sides, and something they keep making huge social movements to complain about.
@GnomesPwns
@GnomesPwns 2 ай бұрын
@@nikobitan7294 it's odd since quite a few women choose to be in such relationships, including mine. Would appreciate if you didn't shame other people's decisions. Isn't that why we have alimony anyway? Because the wife staying at home "enabled" the husband to make the money to support both?
@nikobitan7294
@nikobitan7294 2 ай бұрын
@@GnomesPwns It's not odd, there are very obvious explanations if you actually think critically about the world around you. 1. The overwhelming majority of women fought and continue to fight to be able to be independent and have equally-paying careers as men, much to men's massive resistance. Meanwhile men still form enormous movements complaining about women being lazy gold-diggers but also women having careers and wanting more than to be their bangmaids. The trends are clear, and women have been rejecting this trad life for decades despite men insisting that women actually want this (if they do, why pressure them into it via society and laws? Why act like men are the hurt party here if this is all for women's benefit?) 2. Male-dominated careers punish women hard. Sexual harrassment and even straight up assault are an everyday occurence for countless women, both in the workplace and on the way there. Men justify this as "just how men are" and straight up claim that more women in professions would be "distracting", "cause drama and infighting among men", and ofc shame women if they take issue with said harrassment and get their bros in trouble. This is the case even if said man describes himself as one of the Nice Guys. It isn't a surprise that some women think staying at home and turning into hermits is preferable, or that being at the mercy of 1 man is better than many. 3. Objectively bad, self-harming and dangerous decisions that lead to masses of beaten, murdered, controlled and abused women every month are something that *should* be shamed, or rather people should be discouraged from them, just as they should be discouraged from snorting cocaine or bashing their heads with a hammer. Tradwife life is ultimately a scam and a direct result of women being brainwashed to be self-sacrificing and self-harming for men's sake, whereas men do little in return (and no, having a job and doing everything the way you normally would while still having all the control is not a sacrifice). Women are told these men will love them forever in exchange for perfect servitude, and to ignore the possibility of breaking up, let alone the extremely common domestic violence, missing fathers, emotional manipulation and the husband exchanging her for a younger, meeker model, or at least doing so behind her back. These things have been the actual norm of the "trad life" experience that women are lied about in exchange for a romance novel cliche that men know is fiction. 4. A quarter of women do not receive the alimony they are supposed to. Men ignoring alimony is a massive issue and the same women who have been confined to the house and have no career prospects now have to have legal battles to get any money to support themselves. This is intentional. Furthermore, the same men glorifying tradwives are also the most adamant about alimony being misandrist and theft. What trad life means for men is very different from the propaganda that they sell women in order to scam them into it.

Please make the next video say something about how he can’t drive because he got his license suspended for speeding. (I want to show it to my cousin, maybe this’ll help her see the truth about her bf)

I feel like there's a point where if someone is willingly dating a partner that unlikable and self-centered, it says something about the other person as well. So it's hard to sympathize with the POV.

I somewhat agree, but at the same time a lot of people are used to this type of toxic patterns so they believe this is "normal", usually due to toxic parenting. But yeah I agree that usually the person isn't that much better sometimes.
@olanowicka7681

If it was that easy to see how toxic your partner is, people wouldn't end up in abusive relationship. It's not that simple. A jerk isn't a jerk 24/7. Usually love is there and like 70% of days are good days and the other 30% are a bit concerning at the start. But you love them and noone is perfect, maybe they will change for the better during your time together, after all they love you too, right? - they won't change, they almost never change.

slappable characters are designed to be exaggerated versions of the real thing. people irl who are as annoying as average redditor, childish as entitled boomer, or toxic as this guy, usually get shut down pretty fast. these characters take way longer to change their behavior than a real person, if ever, because when they stop being slappable the story ends. that's why gf is still with him, to continue highlighting his toxicity. because the story isn't about her really so I think her staying being a bit nonsensical is fine. given if he acted like a more realistic version of this guy you could explain it away with she: hasn't realized just how bad he is, doesn't have time/resources to up and leave, doesn't have energy to full on confront his crap just yet, or something like this could be on the backburner if she's got better or worse things to worry about in her life rn like job or family issues. it can be unknown. oop sorry I ranted, hard to gage how long my comment is before posting on mobile

Perhaps, although often abusive or manipulative relationships don't start out that way, the abuser seems normal and becomes abusive over time

TO ALL FIRST TIME CAR OWNERS: its good practice to change the oil, battery, and filters when the car has been used. You can pay someone to do it, but it is cheaper and more efficient to do it on your own. 👍

Ehilst he is absolutely slappable this also is a very real problem because he can't afford to repair his car, which he needs to go to the job that doesn't pay him enough to fix it. He is locked into a kind of serfdom because he can't save up any money to afford to go without a job for a period of time, because he has to pay for his car. Truly, the car brings freedom.

An oil change these days is $100 tops. This is definitely the kind of guy who can't afford that type of necessary expense but will absolutely spend $50 a week on doordash because he doesn't want to drive himself to the store even if his car did work.
