@Oliverf-ej8kl

He's a murderous psychopath BECAUSE of his sympathetic background. If you were tortured and tested on like a lab rat literally from your birth you'd likely be just as messed up and horrific. I mean he didn't have a family or a home like you and me, instead he had doctors and scientists locking him away in a chamber by himself for his entire life, only bringing him out to attempt to burn him alive and torture him to test his limits. He's awful, but ANYONE who went through that would also be awful. That's why he can be relatable and you can sympathize with his brutal actions

Everybody says this episode is about “Forgiveness” but I like to think it’s about “Self Fulfilling Prophecy(ies)” Every character is forcing themselves into being what they most fear. •Homelander - fears being human but lashes out because of human emotions •Hughe - the serum he stole and his relationship with butcher should have stopped him •Starlight - fears looking like Homelander than goes psycho on live tv from audience perspective •Butcher - he most likely has some kind of venom-like Frankenstein monster in him due to his serum abuse which makes him a bigger monster than Homelander, technically. Great writing!

I need Starlight to stop crying in every freaking scene! I desperately need her writing improved. Things just happen in order to push drama of scene sometimes. No one with a brain would attack firecracker in front of everyone. Its just like Mm and Frenchi not shooting that duplicate guy just so Butcher could come save them. I think the 7 just existing to fight against starlighters is just not a good use for them. Good political commentary but this isnt as interesting

I thought this was the most interesting episode for Starlight (not a personal fave of mine). Her popularity was eviscerated by Sage in an instant and the deeply personal provocation harkened back to that mean girl of her youth. It was good stuff.

I feel like the crudeness and vulgarity is really bothering me this season more than previous ones. I can't stomach it anymore. I feel like the show is going in circles with no direction. We are too many seasons in with no progression.

TY! Amazing Video. Grace, Why was The Deep singing with Firecracker? I'm so not getting it?The Ending was so demented but it's typical for a Homelander storyline. Love Firecracker & Starlight beef! Each episode gets better and better it's written for pure entertainment first isn't it? Butcher and Mother's Milk make a good team-up but I do miss Hughie, He's just busy now with family.

I think the writers did a oopsie in this episode - it was previously said by dr vogelbaum that homelander was a sweet boy that later was transformed into a moster (and he blamed himself by creating the omnipotent demon that we know today). But Barbara said he was literally born a monster and just went downhill from there, therefore contradicting vogelbaum and making him a less complex character, because he is not as much as a product of the environment he was brought on and simply more of a heartless psycho by nature
@jerm5
@jerm5 2 ай бұрын
Barbara only described his birth. We saw baby John in flashbacks. He was even laughing at Vogelbaum playing peekaboo at the window. Dunno about you, but he looked nothing like a monster to me then. He's definitely a result of nurture more than nature. If he'd been raised by a loving family, he would have been more like Ryan.

A great episode, although it's getting harder than it used to be for me to take the graphic violence. Theory on Butcher and who rescued him: Butcher now has Victoria Neuman's power (or something similar) after having taken actual Compound V. Perhaps he can only use the power unconsciously?

Was Barbara really left alive? When they showed the door as Homelander was leaving, he had welded it shut. So she was left, welded in a room, in a lab that nobody knows about and so no rescue is coming. I think he killed her in one of the most horrific ways...

I'm glad A Train is *finally* going thru his redemption arc. It's been clear for a while he'd turn with how often he feels like shit for doing what he's told to do. I just hope they don't do the usual thing where a redeemed character quickly dies after their first heroic act.
