@@gistvisions Not at all...that 12" version was made by radio use...this one it's the original one...the one that Simple Minds recorded in 3 hours...this version was never released...sadly!

awesome versions of the best song ever made! Watched a behind the scenes episode about the making of the film on VH1 recently, and the song was originally written for Billy Idol if I remember correctly! Glad Simple Minds took it and ran with it! Favorite music group, favorite song of all time!

Actually it was written for Simple Minds and they initially turned it down. Then Bryan Ferry turned it down, then Billy Idol turned it down, and the Cy Currin from The Fixx turned it down. Simple Minds only agreed to record it after Jim Kerr's wife Chrissie Hynde talked him into it. Even after it was a huge hit, I heard Jim Kerr say he disliked performing the song - he reportedly hated the "Vanity and security" line in particular.

I don't think all of this is correct , if I remember right I belive the opening starts slow then speeds up as if it's a tape delay , the whole track is slowed down in this except for the instrumental at the end. I belive it is all correct , bravo tho you did an excellent job none Tha less
