I kinda think Dune's star-studded cast ends up working against it. Even though I like almost all of these actors, the fact that they are all so recognizable lessens my immersion in the world and highlights the actors more than the characters. I still remember when I was watching the second movie at the theater and saw Anya Taylor-Joy as Paul's sister, I was like "oh cmon, really?" Even though I adore her as an actress. Really great movies still though, can't wait for the next one.

All casting was great except for zendaya, she was lowkey mid until the last part

I’m guessing denis and zendaya both wanted to change the film version of the character. I liked how she wasn’t as complicate and shy as she was in the books but I can see why people didn’t like her performance.
