Capel-le-Ferne is a picturesque part of the United Kingdom. It's a peaceful and quiet place with stunning landscapes and breathtaking scenery, with a close-knit community calling it home. In 2013, Capel-le-Ferne would be swarming with police officers as they were tasked with investigating a brutal murder.

I have CP and I'm very knowledgeable about the disability world. It's actually very very very common for parents to be told their baby won't do this or that when they are diagnosed and then the child goes on to do just that. My parents were told I wouldn't walk, probably wouldn't talk and would be better of in a hospital. I went on to walk for 35 years, be a public speaker, get my mastrers in Disability Studies. It really says more about the lack of knowledge of the doctors than it says anything about me or my parents. Doctors are basically taught Disability = Bad Outcome. They get very little training in the actual lived experiences of people with disabilities

Handing them minimum terms of 20 and 25 years sound like, the Justice system was also giggling and laughing alongside them on that day inside the court room! They clearly premeditated it, carried out the attack in cold blood, and shamelessly, went on to claim that it was an act of self defence, this fact alone should have been a good enough reason to put them away for life!

Yes excellent. I sometimes wonder if parole for murderers is used as a passive aggressive form of societal punishment, to punish entire societies who managed to have the death penalty banned. When a murderer is paroled it is ostensibly because of "rights" and "rehabilitation", but it is nearly always itself a miscarriage of justice. And it's a clever one in that it makes rights, due process, and rehabilitation seem like they are problematic things - when ultimately it is just stupid laws about sentencing that are problematic.
@lizsteeds6697
@lizsteeds6697 Жыл бұрын
Get a grip ... 20 - 25 year sentences until parole can be applied for are hardly minimum sentences ... they do not immediately get released at that point ... parole can then be applied for every couple of years ... and with victim's family still speaking out against (hopefully) and rejecting their applications this can take many more years on top before release is even considered ... they can be held ostensibly for life if parole keeps getting refused ...

Most people...I used to have the same ideology until I met a disabled girl who after going through a lot from years of painful surgeries from childhood that ended with amputation, she changed. She found success after her amputation which somehow boosted her ego. She become cruel, and manipulative, and would use her disabilities card in her slender campaigns. It's heartbreaking as a fellow disabled person, I used to look up at her. She even looked down on me and said many nasty things to my face.

I think you do a brilliant job. Today's case was a jaw dropper, and I agree with Michael's mum - both deserve a whole of life imprisonment. What sickens me further about this is how while the judge condemned them for their actions, they most likely just stood there stone faced and if showing any emotion at all, it was most likely crying for themselves. Pure evil doesn't feel remorse. They relish in the hatred and their actions. They don't care that now because of them, an innocent human being has been taken from the world. Parents are now without their child. Do these psycho bitches care? No of course not! They only cry for themselves. They most likely think back and laugh at what they've done and laugh at Michael's family and friends. If they say otherwise, they're only trying to save face.

I do hope the UK, Canada and Australia arrive at a much more intelligent solution to violent crime especially murder. And I hope it is better and more consistent than what happens here in the States. We do not hand down enough life sentences when they are appropriate according to the crime. We convict too many people wrongfully, and we hand down lengthy sentences for nonviolent crimes. I don't believe this is impossible to correct either.

As a mum and auntie of fragile x’rs, I’m very confused by the retraction of this diagnosis. It’s a definitive blood test, it’s a genetic disorder which is easily diagnosed. His description also sounds just like a fx’r. But, it’s not relevant to his murder. I’m so sorry to his family, as a special needs mum it’s my biggest fear. 💔💔💔

They didn't want the street shame of being found out for having sex with HIM, even for money. Scumbags, I guarantee they both did it with him. I'm deeply sad that the death penalty was outlawed, because I'd be happy to watch this pair receive it.

@eb They had sex with a basically unshaggable man, for money and favours, I wager multiple times. Yes, they wanted NOBODY to find out, their "street cred" would have disappeared and they felt the need to preserve that crap. I also feel that Michael deliberately gave lifts to women to try to get sex, but there's no way he'd force the issue. Just figured if you throw enough mud at the wall, some of it may stick. Wasn't a conniving person, but probably wanted some female contact, that he'd be unlikely to get in a normal social situation, and what better way to get female attention than a reasonably well known local DJ driving females home for mere petrol money, illegally I might add? Not a lot of other explanations from my point of view. He wasn't predatory, just thought a girl might take a shine to him briefly at least.

Think you sadly sussed this one, when the video itself didn't mention this possibility - probably out of respect to the victim.

I've always said that someone who is convicted of murder should be in prison for as long as their victim is dead. To say a minimum of and # of years is a slap in the face. It says their life was worth so little that they deserve to have another chance. R.I.P. Michael. Condolences & prayers for his family & friends.

Absolutely senseless killing, and these two are beyond despicable not only for their evil crime but also for coming up with their concocted story of r*pe and therefore supposed self-defense; not to mention going to get booze and food shortly after the fact. They have no remorse and were only upset at their sentencing, which quite honestly is a joke, unless they end up both serving actual life. The judge sounded so disgusted with them, yet sentenced them to two decades behind bars... big whip; if they get out after serving only their minimum sentences, they'll still only be in their 40s and young enough to enjoy the rest of their lives still. I feel horrible for what Michael had to endure, especially after placing his trust in these two, as well as for his poor parents' heartbreak in losing their precious son. Anyhow, thanks for the upload, ladies, and hope you're enjoying the weekend!
