He is definitely one of the best designed DPS that released lately. He is comfy to play, easy mechanics, have alot of artifacts build options, can be slotted into multiple teams, alot of weapon choices from *3 to *5 rarities, good personal and team damages, can be built as main DPS and burst support, complete package at C0 for f2p players while also having rewarding cons for whales. he is my swiss army knife since I got him on his debut banner. Also for F2P sword you should give a sword from Kazuha's story quest a try! It's not going to be as good as black sword or his signature ofc but definitely a very competent weapon on Ayato himself!

Needless to say I was flabbergasted at the misstep cuz that’s an *early* noticeable mistake, but I digress. The video has been out for an hour so like, I highly expect the video to be reuploaded while it’s still fresh (imo this is the right decision) cuz if you’re gonna campaign for Ayato then mind as well make sure your starting points are factually accurate. Yeah, this team destroys the abbys even with Ayato’s slower hydro aplication, hence I don’t feel the need to pull for childe, even if he performs better in national. It’s also nice that Ayato can be played in a hypercarry team.

Ayato was done dirty by the fact Yelan came just after and everyone was focused on her. But he probably is one of the best 5 stars units in the entire game. Extremely versatile, powerful, hydro (prob the best element), can be the main damage source and/or be the driver, easy to use, not energy reliant... not much wrong with that design.

Perhaps one of the best all-round DPS character in the game, in terms of being very good at doing a LOT of things; almost always being easy to slot into any team and providing amazing value. As soon as you get him he becomes a staple in so many teams. Without doubt my favourite character in the game.

Ayato is an incredibly good character, he not only looks cool, but his kit is so fun and versatile. He's the perfect amount of beautiful and powerful all rolled into one boba-drinking package.

I think the best word to describe Ayato as a character is "fair". He is not broken, but still pretty strong. He has some quirks in his kit you need to adjust too, but not too much. And he is rewarding, when you spend some time to learn how to use him and build his team.

honestly i think he is op, he is not SS tier like nahida and kazuha, but a character that can bring good to very strong dps to any team reaction from on and off field and that benefits from every single buff in the game aswell as not needing grouping, with extremely adaptive rotations and amazing in coop thanks to his self sufficency makes him S tier with raiden and yelan( i know they have higer perosnal dps )

@@Hencid i personally would say he's alr of a dps . Not really in the op category, no one's op-er than water dude.. then kokomi/yelan and then childe/ayato... What makes ayato/childe ptoblematic Is that they don't have good enough f2p weapons. Childe can have rust at some point but ayato's only good 4* option is the black sword for the crits.. while the former 3 have viable f2p weapons and aren't as much expensive to build.. also do their job way better

Tbh I think Ayato is aging pretty well, I see him as a jack of all trades which is a really good thing for this game’s progression imo He can be a hypercarry, he can be an on-field driver, he can be an off-field applicator, he can be sub-dps Burst Support, he can even be a supportive unit with Noblesse and his field buffs, even though that’s… not very viable

Agreed. Not planning to get him but got him anyway in 20 wishes after getting Venti(just building pity). Benched this guy in the abyss since I love using waifus but oh boy, he slaying the recent abyss. Can't believe his skill range is so wide it can reach a flying wolflord. His burst and skill has a 100% uptime in 1 rotation, the wolflord can't take a break with its bs mecha. I don't even have a well built c5 Yunjin but manage to defeat it with ease.

Ayato is one of my favorite characters to use while exploring since his AOE is so large. He can hit the mushrooms and specters that are annoying and keep flying up (except the hydro specters, those I need Yanfei/Raiden for since I don't have Yoimiya), and his damage is actually so good so he can single-cycle big eremites and ruin drakes. His damage for bosses is also good, but normally I prefer to use other characters for bosses.

HE IS SO EASY to build I haven't spent any resin on farming his artifacts. He just used whatever glad peices I had leftover and he has been CARRYING e in the abyss. I had my reservations at first since I'm a hu tao and ganyu main and almost everyone else feels underwhelming in comparison but ayato has really proved himself to be a worthy character

what I like the most with Ayato, and the main reason I rolled for him, is how long his elemental burst duration is. an 18 sec burst with a 20 sec cooldown over a large aoe that continuously applies hydro and normal atk buff is amazing tbh. he just provides so much versatility in team building.

I think that Ayato's flexibility in team building and flexibility in general in genshin is underrated. Ideally, you would always use the same 2 strongest teams you have in every abyss, but it doesn't always line up that way. For example, in the top half of floor twelve in the current abyss, the first two rooms have enemies that counter shields, and the Aeonblight Drake almost requires a bow character. When you are making your abyss teams, it's not only a matter of what are the two best teams I can make, its: what are the two best teams that I can make that work within certain restrictions and do not contain overlaping characters. If you don't have a large pool of five stars, then it is really valuable for the ones you do have to be able to work in many different teams

the fact that if you have a well built ayato can solve every single team and abyss cycle elevate him to op status, like ayaka is unbalanced for sure but she works almost exlusively in morgana with at the very least double or triple cryo required, raiden is op but she not always is the best option and works well only when you can slot electro, yelan op aswell but between having xinqu and the fact that she will force you to downgrade to worse drivers, i think make ayato op in comparision to those 3 SS tier units the only sad part is that he is a bit paywalled until at least c3 in chase you want to make his dps more spicy

With the video only being out for an hour, I fully believe the best thing to do is reupload with a little audio insertion or at the very least add some type of notice somewhere about it. The video is super duper new so the early timing is just right to do so, because imo the blunder is QUITE obvious as the creator brought special attention to it during the video opening. Pulled his C3 because I'm just so in love with his gameplay and lore, now saving up until 230+ fates for the rest :)) He works well in any team honestly, but my favourite is Hypercarry and Burgeon! People compared him a lot with Childe but both serves differently; while Childe is arguably the best hydro applicator, Ayato is easier to play overall.

Very comfortable to use. 1 E and a mousehold is enough to kill a ruinguard even at c0. Has a lot of attack range for being a melee character. he's probably my most use DPS character. also, good job mentioning shimenawa. I first played him in an event where they gave ayato as a trial and I was like "wow, this character is so cool! I want him." And what's more, in 3.3 they announced that ayato will be in the banner alongside raiden. I skipped him for raiden because i like his playstyle so much and didn't even regret a bit cuz he's such a fun character to play. His burst is cool too. I have no energy problems with this guy because his passive regenerate half of his energy once you get back to him after using his skill. Some people says he's boring to play because you just hold click in his skill but people didn't notice how elegant his moves are in the skill( at least better than hutao lmao). 8:18 As a F2P option if u can get 60+ cr (4pc glad) use Kagotsurube Isshin (Kazuha story sword) . It has full uptime for the skill , same base atk with black sword, gives a lot of ATK%. Dmg numbers almost same with R4 Black sword.

Yelan is a far better choice. If your Ayato is c0 he is gonna get replaced soon in every team as you keep playing. Mona/kokomi for Freeze, Xingqiu/Yelan/Kokomi for Taser, Childe/Xingqiu/Yelan for vape. Making him a character not worth pulling unless you are new and lack other hydro characters

@@prestige934 I got Ayato as my first Hydro character so I invested in him far longer and more than other hydros I got along the way. So even if I wanted to swap him out, his damage is too high for me to swap him with anyone else atm. 78/225 crit ratio. Even his burst which is supposed to be comically low does 7-8k per drop that hits enemies. TLDR: if you get him and build him, he's not a waste of a character. I find him easier to use than Childe at least. And paired with Ganyu, their burst work really well together

i dont think any hydro character ever aged badly... barbara despite being the weakest hydro unit is still very viable especially in bloom teams if you don't have kokomi edit: my bad i completely forgot about candace (cause i dont have her), but yeah she's the weakest yet. she's still quite usable though, but not as much as the other hydro units. though if we compare the weakest of each element versus candace's usability, candace would probably be the best if im not remembering wrong again.

Yeah dendro was a big buff for her. It made her E skill so good for its hydro application for Bloom teams.

I love Ayato! After the buffed hydro resonance, I found myself using Ayato and Yelan duo more in the open world. Yelan’s skill saves a lot of time in exploration. I also like the fact that Ayato doesn’t rely on his burst to do damage. I like both Ayato and Childe and I agree that both of them have their own strengths! I personally prefer using Childe as an enabler of my Xiangling, while I use Ayato as a hypercarry, or sometimes in hyperbloom teams. Anyway, for those who want Ayato but still aren’t sure whether to go for him, he’s really flexible and hydro is always good!

i would never replace my nahida for anything else, have you tryed running ayato, kuki full em, nahida sub dps with gilded, zhongli with deepwood, is the comfiest team and your kuki on top of healing you will do nearly 40k hyperbloom

I got Ayato on my 6th Pity (not really expecting it since I just pulled Venti that time and I can say he carried me with just 3* sword (Harbinger of Dawn because im poor) till now he's hitting 15k with 4pc echoes with that 3* weapon. I'm getting his weapon on his rerun to upgrade him. My highest hit with him was 54k with buffs

So the initial roadmap that we had for characters was that Wanderer was 3.3, Dehya was 3.5, and AlHaitham was going to be afterwards. So I went ahead for the first time and pulled on a weapon banner to get that new 4-star EM sword. Ended up taking 70 pulls but I assumed I was fine based on the roadmap. Anyway, that's out the window. Did some pulls for wanderer but got another Jean constellation and decided to wait for more AlHaitham info. Decided that I was going to wait until him (Dendro Keqing? yes please). Then I really noticed again my lack of hydro options. I've wanted Ayato since he came out but since they decided to force him in during this murderers row of banners... I ended up deciding to go for him. Xingiu is needed on pretty much every team I run. I realize that Yelan is more similar to Xingqiu but I wanted the versatility of Ayato. On and off field hydro was just what I needed for a lot of teams. I like Mona but she doesn't always work for my needs and Barbara was my only other hydro. So now I might not end up getting any of the 3 units I was originally planning on getting but that's what reruns are for someday I guess. And I got a refine 2 of the catalyst EM weapon and the Key. I would have preferred the jade cutter but the key is just obscenely good on Kuki. Now I just need to get her up from C0.

You have to use a charged attack to proc the atk speed buff and ayato can’t perform charged attacks when he activate his skill.

He's still good in my books! He might not be busted but he is consistent and easy to use. He got me through all floor 12 my first time. I use him every abyss cycle and now in open world with dendro hyperbloom. F2P with the crafted sword amenoma kageuchi.

He's just better than Childe in everysingle way but peak damage. And even in damage department, he would still reach 80% to 90% dps of Childe. He's the true meta.

@Riyan Are we even playing the same game? Both at lv 10. Childe ult for 680%, vape mean slapping on x2 on that result in 1360%. 15 second CD. 90.6% DPS. Back to Ayato ult, assume it tick each second, 120%, last for 18 second. That 18 tick for 2160%. 20 second CD 108% DPS. So I don't get your theory of Ayato losing to Childe burst alone.

@Riyan First, "boss"? I assume you are talking about his ult in melee stance right? Then sure, even tho it's not recommend to be used in normal circumstance. I also assume we are using Kazuha since Childe AA range is low so Sucrose would just be a hassle in that team. Also the riptide triggering can't be vape since the initial hit would clear out any Pyro aura. 105 EM sub stat can be translated into other stat that Ayato can use. Also Nobless bonus work on Ayato ult too. Stringless putting alot of burden on Childe substat since he need 70% crit rate for optimal riptide. 300 EM is huge if you don't actually build for it. So I can definitely see how Chidle ult can beat Ayato ult. But beating Ayato entire rotation?? Hard to believe, consider Childe lose to Ayato initially without EM, with just ult alone.

Maybe its because I never tried to build a team specifically around Ayato's Burst, but usually find uneeded for smaller enemies since with any sub-Dps or grouping they die before his E expires (even with middling Gladiator set), but find that even without any ER on set or weapon its usually ready and loaded really fast regardless whether he's on or off the field. And E cooldown is almost unnoticeable if you go away to trigger whichever gifts his teammates bring

That's what i was hoping for when he 1st came out. I already have a good built Childe so I didn't need him. At first i was just summoning to raise my pity, luckly i got Mona and it was my 1st Mona so i was happy to get her and have a guaranteed 50/50 next time. The day after i bought the monthly 5 premium tokens and decided to waste them immediately. And then he goes to ruin my guaranteed and appears before me at 6 pity. I stared at him for seconds before i move along and Lv.90 him later.

Ayato has been in my team since I got him. He is fluid and smooth to play. His slashes can reach most flying enemies so sometimes he can even replace a bow character. It’s easy to team him up with almost anyone. For me the casting time isn’t an issue, I like his enormous hydro field. With cryo everything freezes. You can swirl it with Anemo and it’s great with dendro too. It even works with weirder pairings. Putting up Albedo’s flower in the field gives constant extra geo damage and crystals. Xongqiu gives even more hydro damage when adding his rain swords. Xiao plunges… Ayato is the little black dress of genshin character, you can take it anywhere and feel good. I saved for him for ever and it was definitely worth it. Even was lucky enough to get an accidental but much appreciated extra Ayato while wishing. My only non-standard banner C1.

Been using Ayato since day 1 and I can confirm he is a very fun to use character. I use him in both Ganyu permafrost and vaporise Ayato. He pretty much carried me through the Abyss and always got 36 stars since his release.

HE IS THE MOST BEGINNER FRIENDLY UNIT in the game. You can put him into any team comp that requires a dps especially if you still don’t have that many units and also he is hydro which can react to any elements. His playstyle is also beginner friendly since it lacks master of skill to use. Plus, his artifacts are also flexible

When talking about his artifact sets @ 7:44, you forgot to include Emblem. It's great if you are using him just for his burst (off field hydro application) and/or as a placeholder while you are farming one of the other sets.

I have both childe and ayato, ayato is definitely my favourite, his play style is really comfy and i can fit him in any team i want, like any new character i get works well with him. He carried me through everything in the game. I am still not bored of him after playing him every single day, i use him in every abyss and thanks to him everything goes really well. No matter how many characters i get that are considered better than him he is still my favourite

I got him on his first banner even though opinions on him back then were split but he's been carrying my teams ever since. He's really easy to play and very versatile. I personally use him in Vaporize teams a lot: Kazuha, Bennet, Xinagling, Ayato. And even though it may not be an optimal team, it's a lot of fun and carried me through the last few abyss cycles to 36*. He's also fantastic with Nahida & Electro. So in short: Got him for his looks but he became my main :)

For me he has the coolest gameplay in the game. Hearing those slashes -shing*shing*shing- is so satisfying for being a sword wielding character. And he help me complete the stars in floor 12 abyss for the first time in my 1 and a half year playing the game.

before dendro i think childe was the better of the 2, but after dendro i think ayato is almost a full tier above childe, this means that as dendro is the last element and the fact ayato is more adaptable than childe ( childe is burst-reliant and if he doesn't vape his burst his dps dips very hard, so you are almost required to play him in vape). also burning with nahida allows ayato to vape 3-4 time very reliantly, and even f2p with good build reach 100k this means 300-400k vape dmg without relying on energy so you can do it every rotation which eliminates the only advanatge c0 childe had over him. childe tho still has the best team in the game so i don't feel i'm taking away anythgin from childe mains
