The prices in this video are outdated as I arranged the parts for this system back in November. The RTX 2060 has had a significant price drop recently and this isn’t taken into account in the video. The savings there could either be used to lower the price of the system or to have more to play with for other components. :)

TastyPC great video Lauren! Well I think your playing at 1080p as thats the output. However having being a loaned a RTX Gaming PC from AlphaBetaPC (video coming soon) I do think by far, Global Illumination is the best form of Raytracing. Minecraft looks stupidly good and Metro Exodus looks buy far more realistic over SOTTR and Gears5 and BF V
@maybelive7655 жыл бұрын
TastyPC RTX 2060 is useless considering I bought two R9 Fury Xs for like a 1/4 of the price (one of them was fully refunded and works perfectly). Asic cards can do ray tracing all by themselves, just a matter of software. In cases of gaming, I would rather download community drivers to allow a CF system running at ultra graphics than to use ray tracing at medium settings. In raw performance, my two GPUs perform like a 1080 ti in games and 2080 ti in synthetics. This is why brains will always beat "bliss" ignorance and computer hardware that is maxing its architectural capabilities will always age better than calculated and minimalist hardware.

To be fair, by the time Star Citizen is finished, the minimum specs for it will be a quantum computer, mark 2. I almost bought this case, but I wasn't sure there was enough room on the top for excaust fans. One in the back is not enough, and 3 intakes means way too much dust accumulating. Very good video. The ray tracing, depending on the game can be anything from wow to meh. It's nice to see that at least on 1080p the RTX 2060 can handle it. I am quite interested to see where this goes with the next generation of GPUs coming this summer and hopefully more and better game attention to ray tracing. I would love to see good implementation to games that are not first/third person shooters. For example RPGs, or strategy games, or even point and click adventure games. In these games the hit to performance could be far smaller than in first person games. Thanks for the video.

I would not recommend a B450 chipset but the slightly more expensive X570. It offers PCIe 4.0 x16, and supports GDDR4-4400 or higher RAM speeds :) If you want a much more powerful computer in 2021 or a huge hardware upgrade after the Flight Simulator 2020 release, wide-ranged upgrading possibilities await with better and newer mainboards. So raytracing is casting it`s own shadows? In times where all games absolutely CHEAP-OUT on shadows, and sacrifice mostly the shadow quality in their endless stupid "performance optimizing" rally (mostly on consoles, where every patch means overall graphics quality and pop-ups getting even more and more worse) a new PC graphics engine like Raytracing which is casting it`s own shadows even on the tinyest objects like single leaves and blades of grass, is even more important for immersive realistic graphics. You have convinced me buying a GeForce card for the first time! Raytracing, Nvidia real-fur hairworks and fur on humans and animals, and endless other nice eyecandy is rendered in full glory with Nvidia only. But so far the Ryzen Vega11 APU is powerful enough and runs Witcher 3 and anything else almost maxed out on lower resolutions; I will wait with the final graphics card choice till FS2020 releases this autumn or winter.

@@Sekaism- were talking about a 1080p ray tracing build with a 2060. You arent gonna be raytracing anygame over 1080 on this card. Even then I'd be surprised if the 3600 would beat it in fps at 1440 with ray tracing on (both would probably be unplayable regardless. Again I'd still go for the ryzen but no one can deny that 95% or better, AAA games are gonna have better fps on a 9600k than a 3600x intels single core perfomance is still significantly better than AMD. The amount of games out now dont utilize more than 6 cores regularly. And of the ones that will or do intels processors will still beat them in almost all of those games.

@@Sekaism- lol. I just dont want people thinking I'm going all fanboy for amd. Like ing the video control on the intel system would have been comfortably over 60fps for example. I use intel for almost all of my gaming (when all I am doing is gaming) and ryzen for pretty much anything else. If anyone ever asks me about what to buy I always ask what are you doing with the computer. If it's purely gaming I almost always reccomend intel cpus and nvidia GPU's. This set up is fine at 1080p, but want to get into 4K gaming in the not too distant. And have been trying DLSS resolutions in 4K on Forza Horizon 4 and with everything maxed frame rates can drop to 30fps. If I set resolution to 1440p, it will stay at 60fps+ until I drive across an area with lots of greenery, trees etc. I like to try and keep all settings maxed if possible. What would you say needs upgrading? A lot have said the CPU, and at some point I probably will get the 9900k. I'm still on AM3+ piledriver. I have no plans on upgrading for a while.

1:00 Anyone else notice the Gigabyte Z390 motherboard has an AM4 socket? Maybe they had another motherboard/CPU combo in mind before the final parts list was published and forgot to change it or is that an editor goof?

The thing I hold against RTX-enabled is that they purposefully make effect with RTX off look way worse than they should. I can't recall GTA V or Witcher 3 having shadows as harsh as 6:15. We've gotten pretty good at cheesing effects. While I do belive ray-tracing is the future, we're still nowhere near it. RTX doesn't have enough samples making the effects look noisy and it's not even full-scene raytracing, just some effects like shadows or reflections. We need WAY more horsepower.
