20:32 RoR2 was my first roguelike so shaking the habit of trying to power up all of my abilities simultaneously rather than focusing on 1 or 2 has been really difficult. It's fascinating how 2 different games in the same general genre need to be approached so differently

I think I commented this on another video, but the tactic you showed off after killing Lernie got me my first EM4 kill--Hades' basic attacks can't do anything to you if you're holding block and Zeus shield + Zeus special is just absurd damage relative to how safe it is to just hold block while it spins to win. The only other time I've pulled it off so far (in four attempts) was actually Gilgamesh claws--Aphro attack, Ares special, Zeus call, and Smoldering Air being the highlights there, where there was so much DPS going out that I killed him before he killed me. That still took two DDs though, while the Zeus shield kill I took barely any damage at all after acorn.

I’m not exactly knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Hades, especially at high heat, so I probably shouldn’t be suggesting this… But I kinda wanna see someone beat 64 heat with an “off-meta”/“suboptimal” build. Like, just to make a point that “the meta” isn’t the be all, end all. I wanna see someone have fun with it and get funky!

This was my first complete run i bought that aspect and seen what it did and knew zues special and jolted would be amazing. One of the only times his special is the optimal choice.

obviously I can’t do 64 heat but I find that shield is ridiculously strong if you can get poseidon flourish razor shoals/boss damage zeus attack jolted zeus poseidon duo boon it’s pretty hard to get everything in it’s right place but holy crap

empowering flight works when you catch the shield back, which is a bit miserable on Zeus aspect, and for ferocious guard, blocking isn't actively killing something which is not what ya wanna be doing if you can get away with it.

@@josukehigashitaka5016 He's catching the shield with explosive return already. Blocking is what makes shield the safest aspect. If you watch the 64 heat wins, I recall the user blocking a lot against things. Why not boost damage after a block as such.

@@l.n.3372 I think ferocious guard is the best pick here, empowering flight is pretty meh because it only buffs your attack which on Zeus shield isn’t doing much without charged shot, and pulverising blow is pretty bad because it stops your attack from being able to push enemies into your special

@@rt9548 I suppose if one isn't using attack often, then I understand. I tend to use charging shot (whatever that hammer is called) with shield a lot. So I use attack with special more often on shield. Maybe that's why I favor hammers that also buff shield attack.

No, I don't think so . The enemies are just too quick... and damage can't be ramped up enough on 64 heat unmodded

The problem with Beowulf or any cast build at 64 is that you only have 1 cast from Routine Inspection. So you'd need SO much more than Zeus shield. We could argue that anything is doable with "amazing luck" though but it gets exponentially more unlikely.

“With amazing luck” meaning runcontrol (aka a better version of seeded) yes, it would be, in fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a LOT of possible weapons with perfect RNG due to a couple things I don’t feel like typing out (mostly RD)
